OKC will absolutely throw that game to avoid Denver, and Denver likely prefers the Spurs in round 2 as well, so both teams have the same outcome in mind. I think those seeds are largely set.
Atlanta is more fun to look at because they could go anywhere from 5th seed to out of the playoffs depending on these last few games and play-in. I expect them to hold on to a top 6 seed but it’s not a sure thing yet!

Devils advocate but Thunder are deep like us so not a given that they just roll over even if SGA or JDub sits.

Would also be hilarious if they just clearly tank the game. Not sure if it's the best optics for their players but whatever tbh :st-lol:

Yeah not a good look and something that could be bad for confidence. Getting blown out, is getting blown out no matter who you are. On another note I'm not sure getting the Rockets in the second round is some prize. They are dirtier than most teams in the west not called the Suns. Wonder if the Nugget will have anything to play for Sunday.

Silver out here losing sleep over a Wizards v Pacers game, meanwhile actual playoff positioning is going to be decided by the #1 seed tanking a game to the #3 seed.

We should convene a papal congregation to debate this. White smoke means the Lakers have been awarded the #1 overall pick as compensation for these crimes against humanity.

But in all seriousness, hope hes okay tbh. Im assuming hes out for the playoffs now.

hmm
probably but maybe not.
Most are done by laparoscopic surgery and back to work in a few days. Of course most people's job doesn't involve NBA action.

Embiid might be the most snake-bitten NBA player ever tbh. Dude legitimately gets hurt right before the Playoffs every single year like clockwork. It's nuts. He's had exactly one healthy Playoff run his entire career. Hope he heals up quickly and make it back before the Play-In obv but that seems unlikely.

According to Gemini:

As of April 2026, Joel Embiid has played in roughly 52% to 53% of his possible regular-season NBA games, having missed nearly half of his career games (400 missed vs 446-450 played).

I though they said 49% during the game the other day

Thinking of the irony of OKC throwing a game to avoid the Nuggets only to face the team that took them out of the playoffs in the Western Conference Finals.

NAW might be one of the best FA signings of the decade tbh :st-lol:
I brought up the Spurs trying to get him during the offseason on ST. Not many were interested (one of two were). I thought he played well for Minnesota as like a glue guy that defends and thought he'd really improve on a team like the Spurs. I thought it was a big loss for Minnesota and that it might cost them in the playoffs this season (let's see if I am right). Turns out he improved way more than even I envisioned when I wanted the Spurs to try and get him. Stinks that out of all teams he went to, it was Atlanta who we have picks with :(.

He missed his first two seasons, though. Has that been taken into account. The 76ers going into it knew he'd miss that first season, so that wasn't a surprise going in. When they said it on they broadcast the other day, I was more interested in how many games he's played and missed after (not including) those first two seasons.

Hawks only need to split their remaining games to clinch a playoff spot outright. If they go 0-2, we will still need some help for them to drop into the play-in

Those add to the tragedy of his career, but point taken. Looks like he’s averaged around 55 games played per season since the first 2. What’s that, about 65%?
