Yea the Hawks simply recovered magnificently from the Dejounte trade tbh. Pretty remarkable actually. Sucks but it is what it is. The swap will still convey and we'll move up a few spots in a loaded draft class. Should be a good prospect available or maybe we'll trade it. We'll see.

With the Sixers getting Embiid and Paul back combined with Atlanta's tough schedule I still say they wind up in the play-in tbh. Just not sure they fall all the way to 9th. Gonna come down to a lot of H2H matchups between all five of PHI/ATL/MIA/ORL/TOR.

Agree that Spurs trading Hawks' first round pick is a strong possibility.

Question is how much trade value will have this pick?
There are little doubts there will be buyers but how many sellers will there be in that range ?
OKC should have two picks just before Hawks pick. What will they do with these picks? If these picks are on the market, it will surely hurt Hawks' pick market value.

The teams with low draft capital this year

It the draft is really that strong, there should be some buyers

I would be happy for the Hawks if the Spurs didn't own the swap and future picks, really magnificent for them. Also highlights how bad a sulky star can do to a team, let's call it the Durant effect. Trae wasn't even playing early in the year and the Hawks were playing like dookie, once he is gone, they started playing together much better. Could be an easy schedule, could be a coincidence, could be that they just found a groove, but rumours of Trae being insufferable has been circulating for years.

That trade enabled us to tank for Wemby, we got CB with their pick and will move up more than 10 spots this draft. And we have another pick next year.
No need to be greedy.
Yeah, I find myself laughing a bit at the ATL wins now, it's just so inconsequential given the tremendous success of the Spurs this season.

Whenever I start to think that they're "winning too much", I remember there was serious discussion at the beginning of the season on whether this swap would even convey at all, if the Spurs' record wasn't better than Atlanta's (reflected in the votes on this post's poll). Like, can we even complain about "bad draft luck" for the rest of history, tbh? :st-lol: it's a miracle we were allowed to get Harper at all, then CB which has been a great pick, and we get these bitches' pick next season as well as the swap??

We got plenty from ATL, nevermind the fact that we did the trade just to move off Dejounte in the first place and tank, lmao

Must be like Awful Coaching where he's funny the first few times but gets old fast
Not trying to hate on the dude but if you watch one reaction video that's basically it lol I have San Antonio Spurs as one of my main searches on youtube and he popped a while back.

I'll still give the nigga a view and a like but he's clearly just phoning it in at this point. lol

I stumbled upon that dude weeks ago.

He's just overreacting now for the views. Still funny tho lol
overreacting for views is the meta tbh

there are so many channels that do nothing but "reactions." these fuckers pretend theyve never seen a single movie or heard a single song in their entire lives

Oh well I think the Spurs recovered better from it

True.

I mean entire sports networks built themselves around reactions. If you had told me 20 years ago that I wouldn't be watching ESPN for anything other than just a game I'm interested in, I'd have tripped out.

I started watching some chciks "react" to their "first time" watching One Piece. These bitches had fuckiing One Piece stuff behind them and shit. lol But whatever they're kinda cute so ehhh

Think more GM's need to learn this lesson about these type of players; same with older players I am fine with adding older players as bench roles or if they start you don't play them 30+ minutes and don't give them big contracts. Look if they are you franchise player that is older and you pay them fine but you still start to manage their minutes so they are more impactful all season look at Duncan as he aged his minutes went down.

Kings @ Magic and Knicks @ Hornets going on right now. magic up in a close one, but hornets winning big in the 3rd.

Embiid and PG came back for Philly yesterday and both played well. really just a matter of ATL finding losses along the way... and for what its worth ATL's schedule for their last 9 games is one of the tougher ones in the league (3rd on crafted, 6th with traditional strength of schedule model). they have:

they have 2 cupcakes left against Sacto and Brooklyn, but otherwise play the Heat, Magic, Knicks, Cavsx2 and Celticsx2

and then in the West, Phoenix is 40-33 as well, so thats another team that could potentially climb past ATL

Orlando finishing 10th will (and should) get a lot of people fired and might lead to an interesting offseason with some trades involving their guys

I kinda wish the NBA would adopt the NFL draft model for playoff teams.

1-14 (16 in a few years) draft lottery

Seeding based on postseason:

15-22 would be 1st round losers with 15 being the worst record and 22 being the best.

23-26 would be 2nd round losers

27-28 Conference Finals losers

29 Finals loser

30 NBA Champion

they get some sympathy due to Franz only playing 28 games and Suggs missing significant time, but 10th...
