If Cody Williams went #10 for the sole merit of being JDubb's little brother, some team will probably take a chance on Wemby Jr with a late first rounder, even if his game doesn't yet warrant it.
Highly doubt Oscar would be a FRP this year tbh. Not in this loaded draft class. If push comes to shove, he could just not interview or workout for any teams to ensure he falls to the Spurs in the 2nd Round. His agent could tell inquiring teams he's not interested, much like Klutch did with Bronny.

Would love to hear @Bruno's thoughts on Oscar as a prospect tbh unless I missed it somewhere.

I don't think there are people in France viewing him as NBA prospect. He looks way better than last season but he is nowhere near being considered as someone who could be drafted.

Oscar Wembanyama has scored a combined 3 points in French league this season. Nothing more need to be said.

There you have it. Still, just to please our franchise player (assuming Wemby wants it), MATFO should tell him to enter the draft, take a flyer on him using the last of our 3 SRP's (pick #45) that we were likely going to trade anyways, and stash him in Austin for 3-4 years to see if he can develop into a future bench piece imo. He's had a couple games in the past that make you think he might be able to develop into something in time. Still only 18 years old. My guess though is that he stays in France for another year or two to develop.

(y) thanks.

Frankly, Vic seems like the anti-Giannis where he'd be annoyed the Spurs wasted a roster spot on his brother instead of a guy that can help him win tbh :st-lol:

These games aren't Pro A league games.

FRA-U21 is a youth league with a level way below Pro A. This is a league for players younger than 21 years old who aren't good enough to play with the main team.

Oscar Wembanyama is mostly playing with that youth team. He is also sitting at the end of the bench with the main team and play some garbage time.

Strasbourg main team has played 19 pro A games this season. Oscar has played in 5 of them for a total of 33 minutes.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. :st-tu:

If they take my guy in the 1st, it makes too much sense to draft Milan Momcilovic in the 2nd. Sharpshooter who will compete with Julian for minutes.

Nate Ament on ESPN at 1PM today
Cenac on ABC at 2PM
Hannes on Peacock at 2PM
Carr and Tounde on ESPN2 at 3PM
Joshua Jefferson on ESPN at 930PM ahem @Ariel

All times in CST

I may catch the Ament game. Cenac is one of my top prospects but watching him play is boring. He doesn’t get involved much on offense. He’s truly a system player (not a bad thing if the Spurs are drafting him). I’ll def catch the JJ game after the Spurs game.

I’m still holding out hope that DJG will sign a contract with the Spurs for 2+ years. IMO, half the guards in this class will never reach his level.

Fox/ Harper
Castle/ DJG
Vassell/ Keldon
Champagnie/ Bryant/ JJ/ Barnes
Wemby/ Kornet

Or

Guards: Fox, Castle, Harper, DJG
Wings: Vassell/ Champagnie
Forwards: Bryant/ Keldon/ JJ/ Barnes
Centers: Wemby/ Kornet

Jonathan Wasserman pushend Karim Lopez up on his latest mock, he now has the Spurs pick him at #11.
Don't think he was much considering team needs, but maybe he did.
He has Franz Wagner as the NBA comparison for Lopez, I think this isn't a bad comparison.
Spurs might see Champagnie as a role model. Lopez as a taller and more skilled version of JC.

I don't really get the Lopez Franz comp. They may compare in the worst ways like outside shooting, but handle, court vision etc Franz is a few levels higher in my eyes..

to be fair you would need to compare 1st year Michigan Franz to Lopez. and back then you wouldn't rank Franz that much higher than Lopez, in no aspect.

Shout out to you sickos who are going to be watching college basketball instead of the Spurs game today. Your role is thankless, but nonetheless important.

I don't follow college ball, but after watching top prospect highlights and reading about their game/character, anyone taking Peterson over Dybantsa/Boozer is an idiot.
Franchises that already have an established core could afford it, but if let's say the Kings or Nets do it, they don't deserve anything other than another decade of misery.
There are just too many red flags.

Yea I agree at this point. In Peterson's defense, he's playing through multiple injuries right now and doesn't look like the same explosive player that he did earlier in the season, but that's the problem. The guy just can't seem to stay healthy. He's missed 11 of their 27 games with different ailments and he's been on a minutes restriction the past few games, pulling himself out of of said games when his "legs start to hurt" which is bizarre. It's a really weird/unique situation tbh. Can't really remember another top prospect doing this. Very nephew-esque in a way and he just barely turned 19 years old. Major red flag. He's got a ton of talent and has looked like a legitimate #1 prospect in some games, but he's had a couple duds too and at this point he's starting to feel like a team cancer with his situation that's been in the spotlight the majority of the season. I can't imagine his teammates are very fond of him tbh.
