Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I think you guys are also missing that while the 65 game limit is arbitrary its one that Wemby is certainly going to reach even if just barely. And the reason he's going to reach that mark is because THAT IS THE MARK!!! If the mark was 62, then they would have sat him more and we would be in the same exact situation we are now where they are playing him based on what the mark is. This doesn't mean that we'd get 65 games out of Wemby if the mark was 60 and he would have cleared it easily. It means they would have used that additional cushion as rest days for him throughout the season. There's a gigantic diminishing return after 65 games played which is why we so many stars right around that very mark! If you lower it, you are going to have the exact same situation because teams will utilize those extra games to provide their stars with more rest.

I see absolutely no reason to believe that lowering the threshold will improve a damn thing.

OK, good point. Lowering the mark may not change anything. Very well could have been the same scenario. But if the awards mean that much to him and the Spurs keep doing that when he is healthy enough to play, he'll have to put his foot down.
Personally, I don't' care about the awards, but Victor himself came out and said he did. So I'm not sure what his stance will be.

In France, we have something called "jour de carence" for sick days (waiting period), which are essentially days that are not covered by the national health insurance. It is 3 days. After that, the insurance quicks in.

Do the same for the NBA. If you miss 3 games or less in a row, they count toward the 65 as they can be seen as a player resting. Starting game 4, they don't count toward the 65-game limit. So, if you miss 25 games because of a serious injury, you only have 3 games counting, i.e, you have to play 82 - (25 - 3) = 60 games to qualify. If you rest for one, two or three games, then they count toward the 65.

Just punt the Blazers game. Let them try to catch the Clippers for that 8th spot.
Honestly, I feel the opposite. Help the Clippers get into the 8th spot so that they have 2 shots at the playoffs, that puts OKC's pick out of the lottery and gives us a fair chance of avoiding Phoenix if the Clippers beat them in the first play-in game.

makes sense. tbh id save him for the denver game. one last dress rehearsal (assuming denver is still playing for seeding)

What a shocking development that absolutely no one could have come to based on what we saw on the court yesterday and hte level of concern displayed by Wemby's coach and teammates.

Great news. Will be interesting to see whether they play him vs. Dallas or Denver (I don't see them doing both, even if it really is a very minor injury).

He posted this 2 minutes before the NBA released it publicly. Not to excuse our "local guys" but that's not much value when you can just go to nba.com
True face of the NBA, tbh. His injury status is the prerogative of the league office.

He's listed as GTD and also saw the doubtful (just saw that) post. That's good news. Means he'll likely play the game after Portland or the last game of the season, and then he gets a week off.
