Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

What does he have to average to hit that mark? Some math homework for you DA tbh.
Assuming he plays the remaining 6 games, he would have to average 27.67ppg.

Providing the averages of all the other players stay more or less the same, Wemby would have to average 37.72ppg for the 6 games to catch Durant for top 10 in NBA in scoring (25.9). There is no chance he can get top 5 as he would have to average 71.22ppg to catch Jaylen Brown. To lead the league he'd have to average 125.94 ppg.

I think it’s funny there was this narrative about Wemby not scoring enough and he immediately starts effortlessly scoring high numbers while still on a minutes restriction. Proving a point.
Reminded me of Jordan making a point in passing the ball in the late 80s, playing PG when the media said all he could do was score. He got something like 10 straight triple doubles or some insane crap like that during that stretch. Or how Wilt lead the league in assists when people said he couldn't pass.

I am not a huge fan of this myself, but sometimes the greats just want to shut people up whenever they wanted to.

Never thought I'd see the day I'd see Windhorst as a welcome media presence.
Yet here we are.
Vic bless my bum soul.

71 is doable tbh. If fucking Bam can score 83 by having unselfish teammates surely the Spurs can too. Blue font

I don't think even Spurfan loves Wemby as much as Windy does tbh.

But he's right, Vic is a gift to the media. Deep down, they all love when Wemby says shit like this because it gives them content filler day in, day out.
the NBA and its media affiliates finally got their much sought-after next face of the league who would combine transcendental talent with a larger-than-life personality after plenty of failed attempts.

Zion: lazy fat ass on bust trajectory
Ja Morant: not good enough + can't stay healthy + too much 'hood' mentality led him down gangster-like behavior which made him toxic for this league
Ant: too goofy and trash-talky + he's a still shade below the MVP tier
Tatum: bland game + corny personality
Luka: too much of a whiny sourpuss
Flagg: His game lacks the pizzazz and Mavs fans are saying he is the most boring and monotonous great young prospect they've heard (kawhi-like) :st-lol:

Doncic won player of the month. His stans will use it for his MVP case.

Wemby should’ve care about MVP at start of the season and played the way his playing right now with scoring mindset the whole season not just at the end of the season. If he doesnt win MVP this season hope he use it as a motivation to play more offense especially scoring and play more minutes next season to win the MVP.

Can’t lose tonight—either porky’s MVP “run” goes up in flames or we gain ground on the 1 seed

the season wasn't static. first, there was the process of Wemby getting back into the flow of the game after dealing with a significant health scare. second, the Spurs weren't even a complete unit until late December. not only has Wemby's game evolved during this season but the entire Spurs team has as well.

Per 36 minutes stats are interesting but not as relevant as raw stats. I would even argue total points is more important in an MVP discussion than points per game. Minutes and games matter.

I know a lot of people here have you on ignore because of your shtick - and I shouldn't indulge - but as a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, I like when my team wins. If the results of Wemby "not looking to score" are a 60 win season and the second seed, then so be it. Why mess up a good thing?

Im refering to wemby’s statement the he cares about winning MVP. If thats the case he should’ve care about his stats and playing time at the start of the season until the end and not just at the end of the season where its very obvious that he is stat padding to win the MVP.

Also spurs playing egalitarian offens aka beautiful baskeball doesnt help Wemby’s case for MVP.

Aww dang. Team just being cautious I'm sure. He needs to play 3 of the last 5 (four of which are a homestand), so I'm sure he'll make the minimum game requirement.
