Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

Consecutive 40-point, 15-rebound games for Victor Wembanyama?!
You have to go back to league MVP Bob McAdoo in the 70s to find this kind of production.
While several modern stars like Giannis and Embiid have recorded back-to-back 40-point double-doubles with at least 10 boards, Wemby’s specific feat with 15 rebounds draws direct comparisons to McAdoo’s MVP prime with the Buffalo Braves.
What makes Wembanyama’s achievement more impressive is the minutes played.
McAdoo averaged over 43 minutes per game in the 1970s to reach those totals. Wembanyama achieved his back-to-back 41-point double-doubles while playing under 31 minutes in both games.........................................................

the three best defenders of all time never won a DPOY (bill, timmy, wemby). He is right to campaign as narratives are strong in the nba.

DPOY wasn't a thing when Russell played and Wemby missed out only once.

I think it’s funny there was this narrative about Wemby not scoring enough and he immediately starts effortlessly scoring high numbers while still on a minutes restriction. Proving a point.

Wemby on the floor since the all-star break: 625 minutes played, +356.
Spurs without Wemby since the all-star break: 431 minutes played, -4.
That includes the Nuggets game and all the garbage time rotations we've been losing heavily, but it's still I won't say a cause for concern, but a testament to how impactful Wemby has been.

Wemby up to 24.7 now, it would be a nice touch if he rounded up that number to 25 ppg, tbh.

Wemby is the best player in the NBA. We have some stubborn old heads in the media that don't want to give it up just yet, but the proof is right in front of your face. Nobody has his 2-way impact. Players are scared to shoot the ball when he is within 5 feet of them. And his offensive game when he has the jumper going is completely unstoppable. Spurs may NOT win the chip this year, but if healthy they are coming hard for rings in the next few years..

OKC meth heads, klutch mouth pieces like Nick Wright, lakers “fans”…enemies every which way you look. Will make the ring all the sweeter

He would have to average 25 for the season

What does he have to average to hit that mark? Some math homework for you DA tbh.
About 27.7 ppg if he plays all six games will get him to 25ppg for the season. He'd also need to average 17.33 rebounds per game to get to 25/12. I don't think the latter is happening lol
