Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

And you bitching every other post won’t change a god damn thing. Wemby is not going to play every game averaging 35+min/game, that’s just life. He is a 7’5 guy with a different physic than most people, you have no medical knowledge on how to handle these types of body, just because you moan about it won’t change that fact

Spurs is treating wemby like the 35 year old duncan. So now look at duncan’s minutes in 2011 playoffs. From 28mpg ins the regular season to 35mpg in the playoffs. Or even other seasons his playing time increased in the playoffs.I guess the same thing with wemby he’ll play 35/36mpg in the palyoffs.

Yea gonna bummed if he misses out on Awards and All-NBA Teams for a 2nd straight season tbh. Hoping this is just gamesmanship and he plays tomorrow and the rest of the way.
This is absolute bullshit. Of course I hope he’s not actually injured but if this is some babying bullshit that the Spurs medical staff are doing then there will come a time that Wemby will be pissed that he missed all these accolades.

Wemby is not Duncan, he actually cares about this.

lol this idiot is throwing a fit on the TL, talking about “ausar” as DPOY over Wemby 😹😹😹
This is the goofball that runs that account btw. Has likely never played a competitive game of basketball in his life.

This guy has been the worst basketball hipster for YEARS. Just nothing but endless bad takes and yelling at people on twitter for making fun of him
I remember I got into it with him back in the Spurs/Grit n Grind Grizzly era. Dude had a meltdown and blocked me. He's always been a whiny bitch/Spurs hater

I actually believe Duncan did care about winning accolades such as MVP earlier in his career. I do remember him being frustrated in '99 when Malone got the MVP over him due to the media feeling he was too young at the time. It did also bother him when he couldn't ever win DPOY.

Spurs are dumb in that regard if they believe players don't care about winning accolades.

Well they probably are aiming to use up Vic's remaining 3-game cushion for games missed to ramp him back up to health, after which he'll come off the bench, starting at 20 MPG, each game after that increasing his minutes by about 30-45 seconds... until the playoffs roll around where he'll ultimately average the robust, usual 28 MPG.

LOL

You mean Playing off the bench and Minute restrictions all over again? Lmao

Fine by me. He contributes more in 28 minutes than most stars in 35. As long as he plays his 65 games, he’ll get DPOY. Then, he can play more in the playoffs as needed.

There ought to be a separate course in med school revolving around how the Spurs' medical staff have perfected the rigorous science of load management, especially the catastrophically fine line between 28 minutes and 29 minutes of playing time.
I mean, Pop and the rest of the staff can give a fine TED talk about it.
They're just so far ahead of their time. The Isaac Newtons of sports science.

Given how ultra-cautious Mitch seems to be when talking about the return of injured players, him saying he is optimistic about Wemby playing against the Hornets is probably rather an encouraging sign.
