Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

He talks too much, is way too transparent or generous with the media. He doesn't realize the cost that goes with it.

If you say you're the best or among the MVPs of the league, you can't let your team lose at home back to back vs UTA and CLE

What's head scratching is that his lows are still as impressive and unpredictable than his highs. Sometimes during the same game as we saw vs Cavs for ex where he killed his team to end the 1st half and almost brought it back later with valiant efforts in the 2nd.

I don't have a problem with him talking, I just know that he doesn't realize everything it implies.
You're talking as if he's just yapping and yapping with the team having a terrible record.
That is just who he is, and he's actually backing it up - you just seem to expect him to be more than perfect for some weird reason. If that's what propels him to work as hard as he has (by all accounts he is a terrific worker), then I am all for Vic to speak the way he has. The season is still young, and the team has a stellar record to boot.

Get off the edge of that cliff. He is a top 5 player in the league, and is its best defender already. All while still days away from being 22 years old.

What the fuck do you want more from him.

Seriously bro, read my post again...

I have no issue with him talking and I'm referring to his highs and lows

He just has alot to improve upon as an NBA player. His natural gifts and height got him to where he is now. But I would argue Castle and Harper have adapted and integrated much faster to the NBA then Wemby has in much less time. And we are talking about the basic things here. He obviously has the talent to put up numbers, but situational basketball I scratch my head at his decisioning making. He runs full speed down the court sometimes and looks like his feet can't keep up, and he has no idea what he intends to do with the ball. He also thinks he can make a dribble move on everyone when he lacks the acceleration or fast twitch to make good on it.

The conundrum of having someone in a bigman's body (heightwise atleast) that has the mentality of a guard or wing. Can he be taught to dominate inside is the question? Or is he just a taller Durant at this point? His defense is stronger then his offense but even on defense i question his decision making at times.

Wemby got cocky and showed brilliance his first game back against the champs. He hasnt really talked much after that.

The time of the mute Tim Duncan is over, he is our franchise player. Better for fans to accept it sooner than later tbh
fair enough but then we can criticize him when he doesn't deliver. And sorry, for the so-called best player in the NBA, he hasn't

My heart dropped when i saw him hyperextend that knee. Just glad it turned out to be scare. Probably misses the Pacers game next depending on the swollenness level

Legit Championship >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DPOY

Why even give s about:
"The winner is selected by a panel of 124 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place selections."

We saw Tyrese Haliburton limp through a hamstring injury he had in Jan 2024 just trying to stay on the right side of the 65 game requirement. He looked like shit (compared to his standards) and set back his recovery timeline as a result. Just not worth it.

I said it over and over again. He has Low BBIQ
Two men are talking on the sidelines of a painting exhibition. A third man listens to what one says to the other:

“It seems to me that Picasso's influence has always overshadowed that of Georges Braque, Juan Gris, and Fernand Léger in the same field. Picasso is a tad overrated.”

After hearing this, the third man approaches the other two and says:

“Yes, I've always thought that Picasso couldn't draw.”

Yeah that dude is an embarrassment to my paisanos.

Castle and Harper have NBA ready body. Wemby doesn’t. That’s the big difference. And there’s no ready blueprint for someone like Wemby’s skills in a 7’5ish body. So it’s not that he has not adapted or integrated fast enough, but nobody exactly knew how to use his skills at day one. Remember Pop and his coaching staff had to let Wemby find his game out there. Unlike Castle and Harper who can pattern their plays with a Dwayne Wade, or Butler, Harden, Jru or whoever. Wemby had nobody. He had to learn from different kind of players, KG, The Dream, even Jamal Crawford. He’s so unique!

Got to give it to Wemby for putting up a quiet 31 pts 13 rebs (10/12 FG, 2/2 3FG, 9/10 FTs) in only 23 mins today.

He had 3 TOs but I don't recall those coming from forcing fancy dribble against double team. I am fine if he made a bad pass due to strong pressure from double team, but trying fancy dribble against double team or smaller guard just to fall down and turn the ball over is not acceptable tbh. I am even okay with him spamming the 3s as those are technically unblockable/open shots for him. He just has to cut down the avoidable TOs tbh
