Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

I said this is the game thread but it's no secret that the time when Wemby was taking control over the game and was most dominate was when he was playing like a big man, it even got green quickly into foul trouble during that brief stretch

Wemby has been finding a new gear in crunch time. His will is palpable on both ends of the floor. Love to see him raise his game. He's maturing at an elite rate right now. He's playing his ass off. Just want to make sure we are aware of the legendary greatness that we've been clamoring for is emerging right here, right now.
That block on Jimmy was absolutely insane.

Yeah, that block really was incredible. I was amazed he got to it. It's too bad they didn't finish off on the offensive side of the ball. He should have gotten the ball too after that block as he usually makes a big play on offense after getting one of those soul crushing blocks.

I’m good with Fox taking it. He’s pretty clutch, even winning the nba award for it once.

No, that was an awful 2pt 20 footer fading away with a guy on his face. If you are gonna play the Enrique role, at least get to your spot and take a good shot.

Ideally, though, give the damn ball to the franchise player that was coming off making a huge play on the other side of the ball.

These are the details that separate winners from losers, tbh. Hopefully the team stays away from losing habits.

And let's not ignore the context that should matter in taking the decision of who gets the last shot, Fox just had a succession of dumb plays and kept showing it wasn't his day.

On the other end you have Wemby who not only was getting better as the game went on but could've at worst drawn a foul.

It's inexcusable to me and it's worrisome for the future bc it shows that Mitch doesn't have the balls to take the obvious decision. Every neutral fans and observers are just stunned by Mitch's dumb coaching.

How is Mitch going to manage Fox who has 10x more exp than him?

Wemby is low key bad at clock management in end of quarter situations. A couple times I have seen him take a shot with 4 or more seconds left on the clock, leaving time for the opponent to get a shot of their own. He needs to be shooting late enough that the buzzer goes off when or before the ball gets to the rim. It's not like anyone can truly bother his shot anyway.

I mean can we blame them? Just sucks that Steph is also injured. All of our 3 youngins smh
Yep, the nightmare sight of Lillard, Halliburton and Tatum clutching their Achilles in pain should be in everyone's mind.. I trust our medical staff; there is zero chance they clear Wemby to play on Tuesday or beyond unless he is fully past the tightness..I am sure teams are now exchanging info and tips regarding this particular case of calf injuries fastly aggravating into Achilles rupture. Even Adam Silver said they are concentrating medical research on this recurring issue.

It was nice while it lasted.
He'll never be able to stay healthy.

Biyombo - "It's My Time to Shine".

We still have Korndog and KO.

Not sure if Korndog is able to handle the extended min since his days at Boston is only average less than 20mins.

Hopefully the extended mins to the healthy players will not lead to more injuries and a domino effect

I really feel bad for Wemby. He should be on a DPOY threepeat at the end of season, but it looks like he will come empty handed yet again.

This is why I've been bringing up about the Spurs not drafting a young center. Even if Luke is a very, very good player, he hasn't played big minutes anywhere and we don't know if his body is capable of it. There's really no data on his durability if playing more minutes consistently. I hope he can do it and stay healthy because he's a darn good player that can only help any team he's on.
