Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

People seem to be downplaying this all the way around. I'd be shocked if he played in game 3, surprised if he played in game 4 and him playing the remainder of the series is in doubt.

If he can't come back by 5 at the latest, this series is over. They needed to hang on in this game because they don't have the size to withstand Clingan/Williams on the offensive glass and Avdija's getting to the rim. Kornet tops out at mid-high 20s minutes.

$20 million in expiring contracts between Olynyk and Sochan and a ton of 2nds, yet they refused to address third big with two flight risk C's and no PF and now its cost them.
This was a must win game. You're right. They needed to hang on because they could be coming back from Portland down 3-1. Disaster finish. Goldenstate game 1 kept flashing through my head in the 4th quarter when Portland cut the lead down, and it looks like the result was the same. Another heartbreaking loss where they held the lead and lost it at the very end and lost the game.

I think Steph had a bad, bad turnover late in the game where Portland may have hit a three. Absolutely killed us.

AND like I've been banging on all fucking season, get a backup big. Spurs FO fucked the team over. Maybe the win this game if they had another decent backup big. Wouldn't have had to go stretches of the game small against a big team.

From a goat legacy standpoint what will the effect of sitting out the rest of this series with a “concussion” be?

Wow, if true. What a way for the season to end.
The blazers wanted to “hit” Wemby and Adam silver let it happen. A literal poverty franchise that can’t afford two mascots, stadium t shirts or 2-way players to attend playoff games takes precedence over a league staple/historic franchise. Absolute crock of shit

We are just speculating it's a 7 day return because game 5 is in 7 days.

Game 3 in 3 days time, that fits outside the 48 hour mark.

Game 4 in 5 days.

Game 5 in 7 days.

Kid didnt even get to enjoy his night. Fucked up
I knew something was wrong when I saw his reaction on the replay. It looked bad. Terrible way for it to unfold for him.

TP always used to say it's about the way you fall. You gotta fall sort of like a cat. Victor did not do that on this play as cats don't fall with their heads first. Vic's bag hurt him in that situation as if he was thinking more post up, he should either make a move to back him down, or learn to shoot over the top instead of trying to drive past a smaller guy in that congested space.

If we win the championship with him in the lineup (and dominating), this would merely be a blip in the radar, if not forgotten entirely.
It's just this darn social media with more coverage these days. Shaq was swept in the playoffs when he was younger and had no experience, Kobe too. Someone mentioning to me that I've never watched a playoff game in the game thread, I don't understand that comment. Did they take a step back to think about it? This isn't the TD Spurs that are tied 1-1. This is a very young team that could be without their best player. It's a very dangerous spot they're in. Team's with better players (all time greats even) than what we've currently got (if Victor's out) have been swept or lost these types of series early in their careers.

there was a time not so long ago where this forum was discussing if our offense was better with Wemby out. That was of course wrong even at the time, but we were beating teams convincingly.

Now, we can't beat Denver third team and Portland with their best player limping without him........ disappointing

Dude this wasn't Lamelo grabbing Bam's foot and flipping him over. Holiday pulled the chair to get Wemby off balance and he tripped over Jrue's foot. Shit happens. Nothing Holiday did was dirty, it was a regular foul not even worth a flagrant 1. Stop playing victim.
