Player The unfortunately low-ceilinged Shaolin monastery of Victor Wembanyama

He'll play. He sees MVP within his reach. Probably applying some ancient Shaolin tiger balm the monks gave him to his ankles as we speak.
I'm not worried about his determination to play, I'm worried about Spurs medical staff. :st-lol:

for what its worth, we are 2 weeks away from the next time we get consecutive nights off. that also represents the last time all season we will have consecutive nights off

Wow. Why is the schedule so tightly packed the rest of the season?

On the flip side, two more B2Bs left, both on the road. Mar 16/17 @LAC/@SAC and then Apr 1/2 @GSW/@LAC. I'll be that the April B2B games, almost assuring we will lose. Go ahead and mark those as Ls now.

so all 3 of our clippers games this year involve b2b's?

Did he roll his ankle last night? This spurs medical staff making fake injury to rest victor. NBA should investigate this one tbh.

Vic can still miss a few if the med team wants to be strategic about it. Really reduces the margin for error obviously.

I’m not sure any Spur has been held out this year in a questionable status. There’s also some shit about holding All stars out that they had to be on the injury report the game before? Gives them the option to sit him against CHA if they want.

Per 100 possessions Vic.

1st Defensive rating 102
1st Blocks 4.9
1st Defensive Rebounds
8th Rebounds 18.2
7th Pts 39.7

SGA can shove his fake MVP up his keister. No way he plays and affects defenses anywhere near Vic.
If Joker wins that would at least be a legit candidate.

SGA is unstoppable on offense. He is now hitting clutch sidestep three pointers in a bunch. His team hast the best record. He plays defense.
Voters will not build Victors MVP case only because of his uber elite defense. They will just give him DPOY instead.

Voters
I've seen him 4 games vs the Spurs. 1 game he was out injured. He was very stoppable in 3. The 4th game he was good in defeat, the 5th game OKC waxed the Spurs. Take away his FT Merchant b.s. and he is dropped down several notches from MVP consideration. Good? Of course he is.
The 3 pointer against very poor defense for the game winner vs Denver will have pea brained voters saying "oh oh oh SGA beat Joker heads up therefore he must be better."

"Voters"
"The NBA MVP award is voted on by a panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters from the United States and Canada."
There is some high IQ basketball people.

Have you watched him much this season? Is he actually hitting threes now in clutch situations, or just shooting more threes/better from three in general this season?

Well he did have 3 straight games with a step back 3 game winner.
Meh no.
He did hit a key trey vs Golden State with 42 seconds left.
Very weak D by the mouthy Warrior defender imo. Basically backed up and gave SGA a ton of room to hork. Good shot by SGA but hardly an MVP type super shot.

The Denver OT win it was his team mate who drilled wide open treys off 2 Denver turnovers at the end. Joker had 17 rbs 14 assists but an off shooting night. SGA was scoring esp in the 3rd qtr, but no game winning treys.

After orchestrating that 83-point stat-padding charade, this is what Spo is reduced to doing these days: pitiful lobbying for individual awards. You are a great coach, but this is why you will never touch Pop or even your mentor (Riley) greatness. Never thought that he would self-abase they way he did this week.
