Several guys went into the off-season needing to improve their shooting, and Sochan was on top of the list. Then Bryant fell to them in the draft and it became clear they weren't going to extend Sochan because they believed Bryant had more upside.

Then the season started and it was obvious that the team was no longer in tank mode, Sochan hadn't improved, and by January Bryant was already performing better than Sochan.

The only bad thing is they couldn't snake a late first out of some team for him. Once Bryant took his minutes it was over and he was getting traded or released.

Went to the Pelicans game in NO, and Julian pulled a Spurs fan's kid onto the court to shoot pre-game. Couldn't have been older than 9-10. And that kid had a better looking shot from the corner than Sochan, who was standing right next to him.

or his future is just less athletic (but hopefully more healthy) jonathan isaac. acknowledge the offense is a mess if he's not dunking it, but have him out there to wreak havoc on defense. with that said, generally speaking (i know there are highlights and clips), i didnt think he was a very disruptive defender, just a solid man to man defender

He’s not going to magically become a different player. If he’s lucky he’ll get to play in the dunker spot a lot and his FG% will go up. He’s decent at that.

We didn't have a role for Sochan as a roamer/roller/screener/defender. We lack shooting on this team and couldn't find the right rotation to play him with.
