Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

I doubt the Lakers sign him, they already have their Sochan in Vando.

Same with Suns, they have Ryan Dunn too much duplication.

I could see the Wolves signing him, he fits reasonably well next to Naz Reid off the bench. They don’t have any playable ‘wing’ in the 6’6 - 6’9 range other than Jaden McDaniels.

Can’t see any obvious fit with any other playoff team.

 at anyone that thinks he will get major minutes on any team competing for the playoffs.

I'm sure he will do what he does best and chirp at the 3rd string players from whatever bench he's warming next tbh.

I'll be here for it. Maybe Harper will get to his level but right now Kon it's looking like a stiff Challenger for rookie of the Year with Cooper. He shoots better and his basketball IQ is Miles better than Harper right now. Take out Devin and put Kon in. Devin has been good, but let's be serious
Both are great but assuming Harper's jumper continues to develop he's going to be All-NBA and is already a better defender tbh.

Summary for those of us who don't use twitter? lol.
- Bunch of Rockets fans gloating. "F**K Houston?" Look at you, Unemployed!
- Bunch Lakers fans re his "Lebron flop" tweet: "You might start to learn Chinese/Hebrew, buddy" tweets
- A bunch of Donkey laughing gifs with his "Dynasty starts after you.." quote
- "Cut/Waived at 22 yo.. you hate to see it"
- A bunch of "You know it is over when Spurs are giving up on Top 10 pick" tweets..

It's just a wreckage that you kinda start to feel bad for Sochan.

Legit feel bad tbh. That said, Sochan isn't as bad as he's looked and I'm legit afraid he goes to the Suns and helps them beat the Spurs in the first round.

Good luck to him, hopefully he goes East tbh.
How far East are we talking here? 😇

I hope for Sochan he finds a team that is willing to give him a second chance in the NBA. Lakers I don't see at all, they have too many one-way players as is already, including ones similar to him. Bulls seems like a realistic possibility since they have a ton of guards but not many bigs - he certainly wouldn't have to play PG there, at least. People thinking he will go to a Playoff team and suddenly play 20 minutes while having a positive impact are in for a rude awakening, I fear.

Spurs managed to effectively isolate and remove Kon from their offense quite effectively. He’s smart, and is going to be an elite role player, but that’s his ceiling.

Makes me think the spurs have someone in mind in the G league or other world leagues. Like when they brought over Baynes.

I root for our guys until I can’t.
Going into this season, I was really hoping that Sochan’s shooting would improve enough to make his defense and rebounding useful to the team.
Not only did his shooting not improve, but the rest of his game suffered a serious regression. It’s possible that his preseason and early season injuries set him back.
Regardless, as the team around him improved dramatically, he went backwards.
Even as we desperately needed help at PF and Bigs, he couldn’t get it done.
He had very few games where he looked good.
It is a sad ending, but it is time to move on.
I hope he had good financial planning because I am not sure he’ll be in the league more than another year or two.

I think he'll still have some financial opportunities playing overseas.

Feel bad for him. Hard to deal with that kind of rejection at such a young age. If we released him, I am guessing we couldn't get anyone to trade with? For at least a bag of chips?

Now he has to leave when the team is really taking off. Sucks. Hope he finds a good fit and can still have a solid career.

Tangent. But Yabu could have been another fat French guy reclamation project in a trade for Jeremy. Just go with it. But the player option obviously was a deal breaker.

That'll be the factor (Dylan's 3 ball) that determines who's better longterm. Obviously, Dylan will never hit Kon's numbers, but he doesn't have to because he's got other superior attributes. That's said, he's got to improve that part of his game if he's gonna pass Kon..

Actually, I'm pretty sure he amended that 2nd year option just to make the Chicago trade palatable.

You don’t have to compare Kon to Harper to bag on rascal. That was never an argument he was making when he posted about Kon 1,000 times last year. He posted about how bad he would be. He’s nowhere near as bad as he projected. Him mentioning Dylan now is straight up deflection. He should be clowned for how persistent and loud he was about how bad Kon would be in the NBA. @benefactor

Dylan is a better defender than Kon already and a better playmaker and a better finisher. Kon is a better scorer, a much better three point shooter but doesn't set the table half as good as Dylan. Give it some more time and the Dylan-Kon gap will be the one between Manu Ginobili and Michael Redd.

I saw a lot of Duke games last year and Kon always reminded me of Jeff Hornacek. He's a very similar player to Jeff the way he moves around to get to certain spots on the court and how he can play off the ball. Kon will always be a good scorer but I don't think his defense, playmaking, ball handling, and slashing will ever be as good as Dylan's ability to do those things at an elite level.

Having crazy hair is like getting to the net in tennis -- you have to earn your way there. You don't just show up that flamboyant on day one with nothing to back it up.

Sochan's problem was always above the neck (and not just the hair).
