Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

he was never able to defend centers, only mitch thought it was appropriate.
Wemby isnt a traditional center and is very weak and soft. If dilon brooks can shutdown wemby why not sochan?

Hope Sochan can sign with a playoffs team (Suns). Maybe we can play against him in the 1st round

What is the impact? Sorry, I am not too informed on these timelines and their impact
March 1st is the deadline for waived players to be able to sign to playoff rosters. I think he actually could be a great pickup for the Lakers for example as Doncic will feed him bunnies and they get a good defender.

Something I could never understand is why people are jumping straight to sochan unwilling to work. The guys is in great shape, can run all day, you don’t get in that type of shape being a lazy bum. And no, not everyone can be a shooter just by working on it. There are countless players who couldn’t improve on their shooting even by working on it. Even Duncan’s FT shooting got worse for a stretch and we all know he works his ass off.

So the hate will move to someone else, Barnes and fox are probably prime candidate. The second Vassell has a bad game the hate will rain down.

Best of luck to sochan, I doubt he’d ever be a good, or even average shooter, but he could be a valuable player on a decent team.

Goddamn just woke up to the news. Like an ugly aunt, he was imperfect but Jeremy had his uses. It's just best for both parties at this point, though.

For the last time -

I see, thanks. Based on Spurs history, M/PATFO are just too nice tbh and will do right by the player. They would wish Sochan can have opportunity to sign with other teams and get playing time.

Even for the Scola situation back then, I think PATFO could have refuse to let Scola come into the NBA if they can't get a reasonable contract with him. But they traded his rights to division rival Houston and answered Scola's wish to play for the NBA. And Scola proceed to torture us for a while :st-lol: Even Popor RC (IIRC) correctly admitted that they were very frustrated when they see Scola adapted so well in the NBA

Spurs should have waited until March 2nd to cut him since he wasn't willing to negotiate a buyout.
That’s just bad business and optics though.
Spurs have a great reputation amongst most players and key industry figures league wide, why would they let the last year of rookie contract and dead salary attached get in the way of that? It’s a pittance in the scheme of things.

It’s not like he didn’t take advantage of his opportunities. He did what he was told without complaints, tried the one-handed FT and become the subject of every game commentators, played PG, Center and everything in between. It’s not the lack of effort. At times he seemed lost out there maybe overthinking what the coaches want him to do. At one point he just needs to stop and start playing basketball. The G-League should’ve given him a lot of opportunities to just hoop, instead of getting stuck in the bench if he’s not even to get used.
Yeah you just told us all the opportunities he got. You told us nothing about him taking advantage of his opportunities. His free throw percentage is in the 60s. How is that him taking advantage of anything. He sucked as a Center and as a PG and as a SF and the only role he could play was the dunker spot on offense.

At some point, you need to grow up. With any company you work for you have to ask 2 questions. What are their needs and how can I fill them? The Spurs needs are intelligence, shooting and defense. Thats pretty much it. CB as a 19 year old has already figured it out. Sochan never did. Sochan just gave one of the 3 needs.

If you’re an employer who are you going to keep? The guy who has shown he can only give 1 or the guy who is proving he can give 2 of the needs with a potential for all 3? Easy decision.

Also the guy doesn’t take his offseason work outs seriously. He either got scammed or is looking for short cuts. But his posts of his work outs were downright frightening. You can’t shoot in 4 different forms in 4 years and tell me you’re serious about the game.

i'm not saying you're wrong, i agree with the premise.. it would be a by design thing.. potentially sneaky good and potentially disastrous

I'll gladly remind you of this post in a couple of years when Harper takes over from Fox.
I'll be here for it. Maybe Harper will get to his level but right now Kon it's looking like a stiff Challenger for rookie of the Year with Cooper. He shoots better and his basketball IQ is Miles better than Harper right now. Take out Devin and put Kon in. Devin has been good, but let's be serious
