Player The Uncertainty Realm of the Improved Jumpshot of Jeremy Sochan

and yes there really was one
As I've been trying to say all season long last year, there wasn't any substantial improvement.
It's just that our roster got better, making him the least threatening player on the floor that was left wide open most of the times.
I posted his advanced shot metrics many times during the last season and the only improvement he made on offense was getting more wide open layups.
His only above average skill on offense is rebounding. Everything else is anywhere from subpar to horrible.

we call this, measurment error. Sochan is a shit rebounder and a shit shooter/finisher. His skill is guarding. If your numbers tell you something else, you should question your numbers first, not what you know to be true.

What the fuck are you on about?
Have you even ready my post.

I'm not sure why do you have the need to constantly post nonsense. Does it make you happy? Or you just like ragebaiting people?

you said he's only above average skill is rebounding.. but we know this to be false, so how do you explain it if not with a measurment error?

Anything else? Don't you get tired of being wrong all the fucking time?
How do you still have zero self-awareness whatsoever and keep presenting your terrible takes as facts? Especially since you know anyone with half a brain can disprove all of your bs within seconds.

sounds like you're making the case that sochan is a better finisher and rebounder than wembenyama.. because how could we ignore the list high result in 2pt pct, am i right? But we both know this isn't the case, no?

No, it just sounds like you're a troll who thinks your lvl0 strawmans can work on everyone.

Learn the definition of above average.
And read my previous posts. Again if you need to. Or another 10 times, I don't fucking care. Stop twisting my words and rage baiting.
Actually, onto the ignore list you go. I don't have any patience left for you.

Maybe Jeremy is ok with hanging around on a minimum contract for a couple years as the 12th man. Embrace the nuisance/enforcer role.

Not even sure he’s worth keeping around for that tbh 😂

He's a much better 3rd string C option than Bismack. I'd definitely rather have Jeremy on a min than Biyombo and it's not even close.

Yeah, he might be okay with the minimum contract and the Spurs would have to think before they say no, I would argue. At least for a 2-year contract.

He can still carve out a role on the team

tbh.....after today game that he get DNP in a 30 pts blow out win and Mitch rather play Biyombo over him, it is clear that this is a Kerr-Kuminga bullshit situation.

Even if Sochan can now shoot 3s and defend like Bruce Bowen, I am sure he still get DNP.

It is not a issue of Sochan's weakness in the game. The issue is Mitch simply refuse to play him

I am mindblown that people would have disputed this, months ago.. Now I can't even take it seriously, it has to be trolling.

100% and people here are the opposite of the retards on reddit and are celebrating Mitch shutting Sochan out. These people bet on Sochan failing in this league and would rather be right than for Sochan to improve. Period.

Some of the takes here about a 22 year old that has done his best with every role he has been given are embarrassing and says more about the posters than Jeremy.

But why were those roles given to him? Because he wasn't good enough in his primary role. Serious basketball and non-shooting off ball players don't go together in the modern game.
So we tried to have him handle the ball. And have him play as a big.

We're talking about someone that got guaranteed 23 million (!!!) based on nothing but his potential and has failed to develop anything that resembles a reasonable jumpshot in almost 4 years.
We're a serious basketball team now, not a roster for charity cases. He had 3 years of zero pressure environment to show us something, but he failed to deliver.

I honestly don't care if he's a great guy or not, I don't think Spurs wronged him in any way. Most other failed picks were nice guys. Lonnie was a nice guy. So was Wesley.
The got shipped out.
Jeremy was told he was free to find another team, but noone wanted him, even for free. Which says enough about his basketball ability.
He basically scammed his way into securing himself for life by being tall and cosplaying as Rodman.

As I mentioned a few days ago, there was an interview this sumemr where he said he still lives with "the boys". Says enough about his commitment to the game.
Nothing good can come out with living with the boys.

Here is a copy and paste of what I just wrote about Sochan in the Lakers game grades:
  • So with that said on Sochan... what's the point? Is this some kind of CIA Pop mind game that the team hopes will motivate him to eventual greatness? Is Jeremy in some kind of dangerous mental state where the Spurs feel some kind of responsibility for dragging him along? Is he so bad in practice that the team feels him completely unplayable but he's a good locker room presence? It's just baffling at this point... just let the kid go if he can't even get minutes in a game like this. It's reached the point where even I am starting to feel bad for him (and spare me the "he's a millionaire" response... sure he is, but he's still a person who worked towards a dream and now it's all clearly falling apart at the seams like a counterfeit Spurs t-shirt from the Alamodome parking lot)
Whatever you want to say about how we got to this moment... what rational justification is there for not just releasing him at this point if he's unplayable (and I don't mean from a basketball POV, but clearly in Mitch's mind that's what he is) in a game like this? He's even less useful than 2026 Bismack Biyombo, and 2026 Bismack Biyombo is the most worthless basketball player I think I've ever seen. If they need someone to just fill that last roster spot, I'm available for the league minimum and I'd be a great locker room presence, sharing economics lessons with the boys and sharing the latest fun facts I heard on my science podcasts.

In all seriousness, #FreeJeremy in one way or another... if you aren't going to even give him a shot in a 30 point blowout, just waive him and open up the roster spot for Bismack's cousin or whatever the fuck.

Jeremy was told he was free to find another team, but noone wanted him, even for free.
Why sit up here and tell a blatant lie just to make your point look good?😂😂😂😂 The reports said the Knicks, Bulls and Suns(*maybe othe temas I didn't see*) were all interested in him but the value the Spurs would get in return didn't make sense cap or fit wise. It's alright to dislike the guy but don't be an outright liar smh

i really don't understand why keep rolling with this narrative and go through endless circle-jerk made up stat based narratives to make it justifiable

Couch potatoes calling professional NBA players talentless has to be the funniest thing ever lol. We have some of the best armchair NBA scouts on this forum here😂😂
