Player The Layne Staley Depression-Laden Foxhole of De'Aaron Martez Fox

Pulled a disappearing act in second half ..Not sure what happened there. Disappointing because it was a very winnable game
As someone wrote in GT, they decided they'll focus on stopping his drives and give more space to the shooters.
Shooters couldn't hit shit, so they fully focused on shutting down the paint.

outside of the 2-4 from Fox, the rest of the team was 6-29 at the 3-point line, hard to get some assists and penetrate when the opponent is packing the paint. He could have taken more threes maybe but that would not have changed the outcome. We need Wemby and Castle back

Yea when the opposing team on night 2 of a b2b shoots 56% overall and 45% from 3 it shows the defense and effort weren't what they needed to be.

Minny just got super hot when we, as a team, went super cold. Not Fox’s fault.

He’s earned an all star nod.

Jokic, Luka, SGA, Edwards, Fox, Booker, Sengun, and Durant are probably all locks due to the record of their teams.

Reaves and Brooks could be the first timers. If fans were smart and not give charity spots to LeBron and Curry, we might actually see both Wemby (assuming his health is fine) and Fox make it which would be two Spurs all stars since like 2016. But imo Lebron or curry will get a charity spot.

Are we talking Dylan Brooks??

I mean he has been a big part of the Phoenix turnaround. I don’t think it’s that outlandish. But then again if JDub stays healthy for OKC, he takes a spot easily. No way will this historic OKC team only have 1 all star.

Jdub is not going to have enough games played for votes.

I doubt J-Dub will be an All-Star this season (he missed a lot of games which they all won anyway). But Chet should and probably will be.

I don’t think JDub can be selected, with 19 games missed, already. Brooks is like a 5th option. No way he is ever selected an AS. I like Reeves, but he is also a CLEAR third option. Fox has put this team on his back as the first option with Wemby on the sidelines, and led us to wins, and the Emirates Cup.

By that logic reaves is the second option, with LeBron out

Huh? How the fuck is Reaves (I assume you weren't talking about Reeves) a third option this season? He is having a career year pretty much across the board while being crazy efficient. LeBron being back won't reduce his role that much, in my opinion. So far, Reaves has clearly been playing like an All-Star this season.

His position on the Lakers can be debated. What cannot is that Fox is clearly doing more primary heavy lifting, and is a better player.

I think it's a little insane to say that it "can't be debated" that Reaves is better than Fox :st-lol:

Reaves has had an absurd year so far. I'm skeptical he'll continue playing this well, but if he does, he absolutely has a case for getting the all-star nod over Fox.

thru 12 games played, Fox is hitting 38% of his 3's on 6.3 attempts per game... and they are by no means all wide open catch and shoot looks, plenty off the dribble, stepbacks, etc.

but just by the eye test, in open catch and shoot situations, he's basically money. his shooting is WAY less of a problem than we had feared. also bodes well for the castle/harper stuff

he is historically not a great shooter, and he was pretty poor last year (maybe you can write that off due to his busted finger on his shooting hand)... but he did shoot 37% on 8 attempts per game in his last full/healthy season in 23-24

Fox has been instrumental during stretch. Spurs got lucky he hit the ground running after recovering from his hamstring as they were about to lose Wemby & Castle...

7-2 without Wemby would be flipped around in W/L if Deaaron was just passable and not great.

Probably 0-9 without him during this stretch, tbh.

This has really been like two completely different teams this year. The Wemby/Castle team and then the Fox team.

And they're both really good. Can't wait until we're finally 100%

So far he's shooting a career high in 3fg%, and ft%. His overall fg% (48.8) is second best in his career (51.2).

He's basically on par in assists, blocks and steals.

His rebounding numbers are low (who cares?) and he's turning the ball over at an all-time high (I'm sure that'll improve with time and getting to know better the guys and plays).
