Player The Layne Staley Depression-Laden Foxhole of De'Aaron Martez Fox

It's like I said in a thread after Friday night's game, in the playoffs different people step up. It's not like one player has a great game every single game in the playoffs unless it's 2005 and your name is Manu. There's probably a Devin game somewhere along the way.

This is exactly was I reserved my opinion about Fox contract... we don't need AS Fox during RS but tonight is precisely why Spurs gave him dat max. We don't have high usage veteran guy other than him eventhough Fox is not that old he calms the fuck down everybody and can, like tonight, ignites runs on offense. So far so good
if he plays like that MOST games in the playoffs, I totally agree. So far he had one great game, one stinker, one average game and one average/good game (not max worthy but good enough).

we'll see if he can keep up, again for a max salary I'm expecting him to play this most of the games, not once a series
It’s a double edged sword. His great game came at the expense of a Harper 3p/1a game. If everyone played well, we’d score 150 points every game.

I’m happy that he CAN pull a game like this when needed, and that apparently he’s a great mentor to the young guards. Some of the All Stars people have advocated for like Ja or Trae would not be mentoring them, but would be putting up 30 a night at their and Wemby’s expense.

One of these guys is loved by his teammates and has been recognized as being a great mentor figure. The other hates his teammates, they hate him, and he doesn't even come sit with the team during the playoffs while he's injured. Who says no in a trade? :st-lol:

Is one of those players Chris Paul?

I think a clear example we had right in front of our eyes was LMA. At one point, her stat line dropped, and she was on a calorie-restricted diet. She had a meeting with Pop and demanded more touches. Fox was the complete opposite. She not only accepted the drop in numbers but did so consciously and with a smile, teaching and mentoring Castle and Harper along the way. That's no small feat in this world of divas.

Wemby will put the hated dude into submission via his honest takes.

At age 38, KD is finally mature enough to change his character, as often happens with people who have been the center of attention their entire adult life.

Even KD knows it's his time to bow down to the Eiffel Tower.
Especially if it comes to a point Wemby feels the need to open his mouth about KD.
Which he would.
Wemby works like someone I know. We talk. We say. We're pretty unfiltered, but there's intelligence to what is said and what is said is the truth and pointed.

Lebron took a back seat to Austin fucking Reaves this season. I think KD can manage staying away from burner accounts for a season or two if he gets his wish of playing next to Wemby, imho.

Lebron sneakily tried getting AR traded lol, with rich Paul basically saying so on his podcast

If you wish it hard enough, maybe it will come true!

(LeBron James had a higher USG%, more raw FGA/gm, more FGA/36, more FGA/100 than Austin Reaves... but maybe the Lakers' back seat has a booster seat or something, idk)

I'm clearly talking about this later part of the season, where they went on a great streak.

I don't need to wish anything to become true when everybody and their mothers talked about it.

Oh some YouTubes... yeah, okay I'm ready to trade a key part of our team for Durant now :st-lol:

If I understand, we should not expect Fox to be too good or this would come at the expense of Harper and Harper is the PG of the future and we know that eventually we won't be able to keep Fox when we start resigning Wemby and Castle. So, the Spurs will pay Fox the max to be a mentor essentially? Sorry, but if Fox plays and is getting paid the max, I'm expecting more from him than just being a mentor. I was happy the way he played yesterday, I’m fine with him shooting less and deferring to the guy with the hot hand, but when the whole team is in a slump, I expect him to step up and take control.

And... LeBron's USG after the ASB was still higher than Reaves. But since YouTube told you LeBron took a backseat, I'm sure 38-year old KD will put down the burner and become a model teammate for the first time in his career.

If you want to nitpick and say the Lakers run didn't start until March... yeah, LeBron still has a higher USG%

DeAaron is always a great interview
That Wemby warm hug tells you how much Fox is loved by teammates. We can nitpick about his shortcomings as a player and his soon-to-be-bloated contract, but there is no denying he is culturally more Spurs material than other big acquisitions this franchise has made through FA or trades (Aldridge, R.Jefferson.)
