Player The blessed howl's moving Castle of Stephon Javonte

arite so after preseason and the opener against Dallas, everybody wanted to trade Fox

now after 3 more games, everybody wants to trade Castle

wonder when people will start wanting to trade Harper lol

When we luck into Peterson next year tbh.

Castle will be fine tbh. Fox returning should* help with the turnovers and the jump shot needs to improve obv.

My biggest concern with him is he's currently shooting 52% from the line... Disgusting for an NBA guard tbh. That number has to come up immediately.

Huge game from Castle tonight.
Jordan was solid too.
Mitch will have an interesting job w lineups when Fox returns.

Yeah, I really liked what I saw from him against the Heat. His decision making especially was improved - when he was driving, it was not just to get to the rim or get fouled, it was to make a good play, either for himself or others.

That was by far his best game, his 2/4 on 3s hopefully will boost his confidence, the 8 assists 4 stl for only 2 TOs were great to see

Like I mentioned a few days ago in another thread, if the Spurs are going to play Steph at PG, just gotta give him some more time. Can't be all over all him after a few games. I thought he would adjust the more games he plays at the spot. I didn't know if he'd be great at the position as he's never really played it full-time, but I was pretty sure he'd get better at it with more time/games under his belt at PG. I'm glad he played better last night. Spurs needed it to win. I like that he also took a couple of mid-range shots.

Thru 5 games Castle is shooting 53.4% overall from the field. Pretty impressive TBH. Can't wait to see him pair with Fox, exciting time for us Spurs Fans!

Two most exciting things about Castle so far:

1) He’s shown that he can be the elite defender everyone expected coming out of UCONN. Last year we saw flashes but overall he wasn’t great. Not a knock on him considering he was asked to do way too much offensively given all the injuries we had. This year he looks incredible and might get even better once Fox comes back and his offensive role takes a minor step back.

2) His 3-point shooting hasn’t been amazing by any means, but he’s at least shooting 33% so far this year which is respectable. If he continues to develop and becomes a 35-37% type guy in the near future then the sky is the limit tbh. That + getting back to being a 70+% FT shooter.

His mid range game he should practice more with getting looks with more creativity. He seems to connect 15 to 18 ft mid range jumpers at a higher clip and they look smooth.

His ability to penetrate into the lane with a hessy into a mid range would make him really difficult to cover

Happy Birthday to the guy putting the 5 in area 51!
I think he'll settle down a bit as the season goes. The turnovers will decrease. The FTs will drop, hopefully.

6 rebounds a game from him is such an important contribution.
He's taking and making clutch 3's at momentum-shifting times.
His demeanor is so stoic and tough-minded that his ups and downs don't seem to deter him and that plays to his amazing coach ability.
He Fox and Harper are a 3-headed backcourt monster that will put a ton of pressure on teams this season.

Yea, props to Castle for also being mentally tough and has the guts to continue take the 3s and hit a few clutch mins 3s already

Three players on the roster have experience in high level basketball near this level:

Kornet won a championship with the Celtics
Wembanyama went to the final round in the French league
Castle won a NCAA championship with UConn

all of his stats are up this season, besides obviously freethrow percentage and turnovers being up as well.

Going to be fun watching all these young players learn and meld their games together the way TD, Manu and Tony did. I think eventually there won’t be one designated PG, they’ll just work off of each other.
