Player The blessed howl's moving Castle of Stephon Javonte

Assuming Wemby is in the ASG (basically needs the games played), I worry that Fox and Castle will just split votes ala Parker and Manu when it comes to getting a 2nd guy in the ASG.

I'd say it's fair to say they've already split votes. Fox carried the Spurs for a stretch and Steph also had a stretch of good/great games.

Whenever the Spurs are on national tv, the broadcasters shower Castle with praise. Wade, for example. He’s getting league-wide recognition. All-star appearance is within reach.

Castle is such a tough competitor. His potential is sky high as is his ability to rise to the occasion. Seems very humble and steady. He and Harper are on their way to becoming an All-NBA backcourt.

Three teams passed on him. Take that in. Pundits (and@scott) thought he wasn’t a PG. Spoiler alert: he is.

Well, nearly everyone here apart from a few didn't want him playing PG after the start of the season (first 5 or 6 games). You can at least go back and read my posts where I kept saying just give him some more time. I believed in him being able to do it because of how hard he works, how determined he is, his high BBIQ (Chris Paul doesn't give compliments to just anybody - He had Chris Paul's endorsement). I thought he could play PG if that is what he really wanted to do. He just needed time to adjust, more reps against NBA defenses to work it all out. I wasn't 100% sure he could be the full time PG, but I was very sure that with the more time he had at it, he'd get better and better at it. Not many others even wanted to give him that chance. People kept banging on that he's not a PG, get De'Aaron back and have him play PG immediately is what most people wanted.

I saw him as a combo guard not a full time PG I thought he be better being a secondary ball handler with Fox being the primary and I thought he get his turn over lower as time went by

I did too, but I also was willing to give him a chance/a good amount of time at it if he wanted to play PG. If he believes he can do it, who am I to go against that.

CP3 said this a month into Castle's rookie season. Trust Paul on everything PG-related. This the most powerful endorsement you could get from a well-reputed perfectionist .

Castle was so underrated. That UConn team was deadly, just overwhelmed teams and he was their second most important player after sophomore Donovan Clingan. With both of them on the court the team defensive rating was historically ridiculous. When only one of them was playing the rating dipped to only very, very good and was practically the same regardless of which one was sitting.

And then Castle came up big in big games. Newton won Final Four MVP, I believe, but Castle lead the team in Final Four points. Against Alabama in the semi finals they dared him to shoot from deep at the start of the game and it didn't work. He hit them. His mentality is next level.

Last year it was still arguable that Sochan was the best perimeter defender.

This year Castle is no doubt the best perimeter defender and very underrated offensive rebounder. He seems to have unlimited stamina....always trying to sneakily crash the offensive board, then pick up his man 3/4 court, being the offensive engine for the team.

Really a great leap so far and making Sochan really dispensable :st-lol:
