Player The blessed howl's moving castle of Stephon Javonte

Actually looked up the highlights:

So With Castle on the floor, Booker:
- Hit a low post turnaround over Harper after Castle went help out a Goodwin drive. (around 45s). I think this counts as a shot against Harper.
- Hit an elbow pull up over Castle after Castle was screened by Nigel Hayes-Davis. Should definitely count against Castle (around 50s mark)
- Passed to grayson Allen for a wide open 3 while Champaigne was guarding him. Castle was supposed to be guarding Allen but went help out to double Booker. (1:25 mark)
- Passed to Goodwin after shouldering Castle to the floor for a wide opened 3. Barnes had to help out on a Dunn cut, and Vassell had to leave Goodwin to block off the cut. In retrospect Vassell should have stayed no his man and Wemby should be helping out. (1:38)
- Pull up from 18 after a Mark Williams screen, right in Castles face. Should definitely count (1:48)
- Passed to Williams for a bunny after Castle switched off on him and Vassell had him instead. Castle was pretty lost there (2:05)
- Drove in for a layup vs. Barnes. Castle was guarding Grayson Allen (2:15)
- Fast break layup when Castle was trying to crash in for a defensive board. I think this should count but I doubt it (2:21)
- Turn around from 10 feet right in Castle's face. Definitely should count (2:38)
- Hit a pull up around the elbow after Barnes was switched onto him from a Dunn screen. Booker was originally guarded by KJ. Castle was on Williams (2:45)
- Passed out to Gillespie allen for a 3 while Castle was guarding him (2:56)
- Passed to O'Neale for a three in a semi fast break while Castle was guarding him (3:10). At this point the Spurs were helping on doubling anything Booker it seemed.
- Pulled up from the elbow off a screen after Castle was guarding him. Vassell came to help and challenged. Should have counted but again i doubt it. (3:17)

So there were at least 3 shots Booker nailed on Castle, potentially 5. Booker scored or assisted on 23 points, so Castle didn't really do that well and the matchup thing doesn't seem to be overly accurate. It also showed Booker had 4 assists when I counted 5.
You didn’t read very well. Passes to other players are irrelevant to what the Tweet says, it’s strictly shots put up with castle as the defender. If he gets screened off, and there is a switch? Doesn’t count. If he crashes the DGlass, and Booker leaks out? Doesn’t count.

The alternative to Castle not shooting open 3s is him passing up open 3s, and then he just becomes Jeremy Sochan out there. Hard pass. His form looks good, they'll start falling.
I don't mind his missed 3's because eventually they'll go in. More worried about his turn-overs but those too will get fixed in due time considering he's getting the Sochan treatment at PG as a SG and doing great when it comes to assists per game.

but right now he is shooting 24.4% from 3 on 4.6 attempts per game, while shooting 69.7% from the line on 7.3 attempts

Wade kind of stats :st-lol: of course a bit of exageration but Wade is 29% from 3s and 76% from the FT line. They have some similarities tbh...size (Castle is a bit taller), weight, shooting, willingness to score inside, quite good rebounder for their size, prime Wade was a pretty good defender, Victor does not let a lot for the others on the block department but Castle has the tool to block shots, both can TOV the ball quite a lot... I mean if Castle can become a poor's man version of Wade,I wouldnot complain :st-lol:

The tweet said he made 1 shot, I counted at least 3, potentially 5 depending on what they mean by shot against Castle.

The other stuff like passes or switch off is to give context.

His shots all looked great vs NO. They’re just not falling.
it’s still unknown if he has fine touch buried in his potential. His finishing is getting better so that’s one good sign. Getting the ft% up would give me a little confidence. But realistically he’s going to cap out as a barely passable shooter. I think that’s good enough considering his other talents.

His turnovers are going to go away. There’s no question about that. But with fewer risks you’re also going to see a dip in production. If Cade started playing responsibly he loses all of his triple doubles, for example.

he is playing at a high level overall, and its cool to see that he has taken a leap despite not getting even 1% better at shooting :st-lol:

just means there is still a lot of room for his game to take off if he can improve on one of the things that tends to be fairly improvable... shooting

No issues with his shots so far, those are mostly shots he should've take (from what I recalled), if he misses he misses, better than not shooting at all like Sochan. Got an open shot, take it.

i mean thats fine and dandy but being sub 30% from 3 and hanging around 70% from the FT line is going to be problematic

Hot take:
Castle is already a better true PG than Fox?
Fox has never been a big assists guy.
Castle is really setting up teammates well.
I’m glad we have both

LAL: 8 asissts, 6 turnovers
HOU: 13 asissts, 5 turnovers
NOLA: 13 asissts, 2 turnovers
CHI: 11 assists, 1 turnover

My stance has been that Castle is straight up a better facilitator and has better vision than Fox, full stop. So, yes.

3rd straight game with double digits in assists. Has Castle found a recipe for high assits totals? This is with Fox back in the lineup too. If he ever gets his 3 pt shooting to 35% is over.

There's no scenario where Castle doesn't end up the Spurs and Team USA's uncontested starting PG.

Just a matter of time.

Imma have to rethink that he's not a lead playmaker take tbh.
He is going to be a monster. Such a fast learning curve, tbh.I am honestly seeing shades of 2012-2013 Kawhi with how imposing he looks on court.. The (future) star aura is unmistakable.

Few teams have multiple top end point of attack defenders. I like the idea of having Fox and Castle each have stretches initiating/attacking based on which one has the more favorable match up. Fox is able to create the kind of separation that Castle can only dream of and that results in teams having to rotate. Having both is such a luxury.

Dude, if he starts hitting threes at 35%, that'll take him to about 24ppg and the team starts to look really legitimate. He has to know that already in just Year 2, backing off from him is the main game plan to deal with him, and if that plan becomes null, his ceiling escalates like compounded interest, and so does the team's.

Coaches probably haven't told him how much of a difference-maker he could be if he puts the work in.

Like I said a few times before, give him 10-15 games at PG to learn the spot before getting all over him on whether or not he can play the spot. 10th game, 1 turnover. He's playing it better than even I thought (great game on the road this time), but he's adapted like I believed he would, and he's doing it quickly.

The CP3 Point God effect???

3 straight games with double digit assists?

I am not even sure if Tony and Manu ever accomplished this feat....

Give me the 3 guard + korndog lineup when Harper is back. I think it’s unstoppable.

I actually want to see all 3 start, though. Harper can play Devin’s spot. Hes a good enough catch and shoot guy already.

TP had 4 straight:

12/23/2012 vs Mavericks — 10 assists
12/26/2012 vs Raptors — 14 assists
12/28/2012 vs Rockets — 10 assists
12/29/2012 vs Mavericks — 11 assists

Manu never had even 2 straight
