Trade Spurs Trade Ideas

His efficiency improves once he starts getting more whistles. He’s great at getting into the lane and drawing contact. He’s just not getting vet calls.

I feel this is one aspect of his game that is somewhat out of his control but will eventually materialize.
I don't think there is much more of a whistle for him to get. His FTr% is .499, higher than Luka (.498) and SGA (.476). Amongst real scoring options on their team, only Jimmy (.621), Deni (.570) and Paolo (.509) are higher.

But even if he did get up to Jimmy's FTr% (which is all-time), we're talking about 1.5 more FTA/gm, which at 72% FT% equates to 1.08 more points per game. That's significant on a team scale, but not going to be a huge needle mover on his TS%. His current TS% is .553, getting Jimmy's FTr would bump it up to .564. Not nothing, but also not the difference maker to making him an efficient scorer. Becoming more efficient will all come down to what we already know: improving his 3pt shot, continuing to hone that middy, and becoming more selective on driving into traffic.

Spurs likely won’t get rid of Barnes just because his shot fell off. It’ll come back, and he has the most experience on the team at only 33 y/o. They’d rather have Sochan off the books in the offseason than take on bad salary. I doubt they make a move by the deadline.

Then next years makes more sense if we think Atlanta is going to cratered they are sitting at 10 in a very bad east
2027 is the pick to trade, for sure. Hawks will most likely be a lot better next season with a top draft pick coming in with the NOLA pick and probably trading for AD or others.

Spurs will most likely extend Barnes, but they will trade Sochan and/or Olynyk for useful players. Best case scenario is those players being signed through next season, so you can include them in a trade package later down the line.

Fair and that works for me but I just don't want to give up multiple frp for a player I think long term you are better set up to have them to trade for players around your core or draft a young player to fill in around the core as years go on

I definitely agree. As of right now only 27 ATL pick should be on the table. And that's only for a major upgrade.

Stop making my emotional responses look stupid with stats.

:st-lol: at "only 33 years old". There aren't 20 players in the nba who are starters that are 33 or older :st-lol:

Looks like Memphis is tanking they just unload Jackson come on wright sneak in and get Aldama for some reasonable resources

I'm curious about this.

Kawhi Leonard

You're actually right.

I'm wondering if Utah is sending Lauri off somewhere. He and JJJ are an unusual pairing, but, capable of competing with Minnesota, eventually.

It would be smart, money-wise. There were rumors of Kuminga for him in some fashion last summer. Both teams refused. Or one of them did. Or whatever.

May have already been discussed but after the Boston Chicago trade Boston is getting close to getting under the apron. A Sochan for Hauser swap gets them close enough that another small deal gets them under.

Sochan makes more sense 'theoretically' next to Vucevic. I do think Boston gets under the apron, I'm just not sure Sochan is the target.

Gonna be pretty pissed if the Spurs stand pat at the deadline. Obviously don't need a major move but not addressing this team's lack of shooting and vulnerability to a Wemby/Kornet injury would be malpractice, especially with all the expiring contracts.

Yep don't need a block buster trade but adding solid role players is needed

I believe they are now already under the first apron. $6MM away from getting under the tax line, that's where maybe we can help them?

Not sure why you see this happening. They’ve made a deal the last four trade seasons,

For some reason I thought Embiid would be on this list but I guess it's just that his knees are ancient.

3 of these players being on GS is :st-lol: although Curry is having another ridiculous year.
