That's another good name. He's coming off knee surgery in August and should be a good to go next season. Shouldn't cost much at all.Haywood Highsmith

I like Highsmith and have mentioned him frequently... but he had surgery for a torn meniscus in August and seems to have some complications... is he even healthy?Haywood Highsmith
I wonder if CHA would do a Sochan for Salaun swap. Salaun has been bad this year. Spurs get a chance to reset the developmental PF slot and see if there is anything there, and may even be able to extract a little more value too (SRP). Worst case they don’t pick up his option in a year, and/or he’s salary ballast.Maybe we could get a team that has offense, but is weak on D to give us something for Sochan? Knecht + NSJ for Sochan +McLaughlin?
No, hasn't played a game yet. Could probably get him for Biyombo and a second rounder because of that. I take that gamble.I like Highsmith and have mentioned him frequently... but he had surgery for a torn meniscus in August and seems to have some complications... is he even healthy?
He got money from the Bucks that the Pacers were never going to pay. Turner will be fine.I wonder how Turner would feel if he does leave next season. He should have just stayed in Indiana.
I'd be perfectly fine with that swap..I wonder if CHA would do a Sochan for Salaun swap. Salaun has been bad this year. just FYI salaun makes 8.2 mil next year then the 4th year club option (which would have to be exercised before next season) would be at 10.4milI'd be perfectly fine with that swap..
Oh dear God, not Salaun again... the guy moves like his limbs are being operated by remote control, he's not an NBA player, the one thing worse than letting Sochan go for nothing is using his roster spot on a bust who will keep you from adding someone with real talent.I wonder if CHA would do a Sochan for Salaun swap. Double checked and he just turned 29 not 30. Only complaint is that he's a weak rebounder for a PF. Great fit otherwise and wont cost much.
Torn on how the Spurs should use their cap space because its going to dry up eventually no matter what they do . Might as well make a short term splash.
yeah... if Salaun was a free agent right now, would you want the spurs to sign him to a 2 year 18 mil contract? i dont think so...Oh dear God, not Salaun again... the guy moves like his limbs are being operated by remote control, he's not an NBA player, the one thing worse than letting Sochan go for nothing is using his roster spot on a bust who will keep you from adding someone with real talent.

I'm surprised Salaun doesn't have BUST written on the back of his jersey. Let some other desperate team make that signing.yeah... if Salaun was a free agent right now, would you want the spurs to sign him to a 2 year 18 mil contract? i dont think so...
Wasn't he salary dumped by Miami a while ago? If he's injured and expiring I can't see him fetching a second rounder, maybe matching expiring and cash considerations, or a swap of 2nd rounders or something minor like that. On paper he'd be an interesting low cost addition, but he's had meniscus surgery and recently had experienced knee swelling. Those surgeries sometimes result in lingering cartilage issues or worse, so I'm kind of leery, but Spurs have knowledge and inside info that I don't so if they were to take him I wouldn't second guess it.No, hasn't played a game yet. if giannis was on the spurs right now you'd be waxxing poetic about how he's shooting 43.5% from 3 this yearI don’t want Giannis. He’s extremely ball dominant, and a worse 3 pt shooter than Sochan.
Giannis also has pointy elbowsif giannis was on the spurs right now you'd be waxxing poetic about how he's shooting 43.5% from 3 this year
but thats a ridiculous comparison to draw. sochan's lack of shooting hurts him because it means he often times doesnt have to be guarded. nobody is ever refusing toe guard giannis
It’s also a ridiculous comparison to compare guarding styles of a first option with those of an end of rotation player.if giannis was on the spurs right now you'd be waxxing poetic about how he's shooting 43.5% from 3 this year

Not quite right though is it? You’d be getting off Sochan too, and if he truly busts the Spurs can just decline the team option. So basically one more year at 8M to get a look at a player at a position of need.yeah... if Salaun was a free agent right now, would you want the spurs to sign him to a 2 year 18 mil contract? i dont think so...
This is absurd. Why must you downplay every non-Spur there is? Come on, man. It’s also a ridiculous comparison to compare guarding styles of a first option with those of an end of rotation player.
We already have a first option. Don’t need another one.
Honestly, he's a little better than last year, but not by much. I think he'd be a little better here, but I'm not under any delusional expectation of success. Basically, I'm just looking for someone who has a better chance of playing here than Sochan and he qualifies and I realize thats a low bar.Not quite right though is it? But I also haven’t watched Charlotte this season at all, so no clue if the dude is simply beyond help. Defer to those who have on that piece.
Cost/benefit analysis comes up short, imo. This is absurd. Why must you downplay every non-Spur there is? Come on, man.
Giannis would probably cost at least one of Harper/Castle, plus most the Spurs' picks and salary filler. Something like this:No Giannis thread? What has BB become tbh?
