He's on my ever growing list of Never Spurs... but I do agree his the kind of player that we could use!Its too bad the Suns are playing so well because Dillon Brooks would be the perfect fit at on paper. Not sure he would have fit the culture but still.
I recently had a discussion which sounds absolutely crazy, but is Dillon Brooks more valuable to his teams that current KD?He's on my ever growing list of Never Spurs... but I do agree his the kind of player that we could use!
It was a pick, and a swap, and that swap is still TBD and 28 months out. I’d be down for a Spurs 2029 pick, and a top 4 protected swap later, but not two firsts unless it is a ready made exact fit player on a reasonable deal like Whites was.Spurs are in a somehow similar Situation the Celtics were when they traded for DW. They brought in a role player they thought could be a good fit with the young stars. And back then there was a feeling they overpayed. But they didn't, DW became a crucial part of a championship. In hindsight two FRPs don't look like an overpay.
I think Spurs should take the same risk at this point.
I think the FO is probably in agreement with you. I can’t ever see them bringing on such an asshole, even dumbass who would provoke LeBron before a series started. He's on my ever growing list of Never Spurs... but I do agree his the kind of player that we could use!
Correlation =/= causality. The teams may have done those things in spite of him, instaead of because of him. I mean if he was really that guy,why do teams keep moving on from him?I recently had a discussion which sounds absolutely crazy, but is Dillon Brooks more valuable to his teams that current KD?
Obviously nowhere near his ability as a basketball player, but it can't be denied that every team Brooks was on always played hard and had great locker room atmoshpere, regardless of his antics towards his opponents.
Meanwhile, everywhere KD went he eventually brought everyone down and everyone was relieved after he left. Happened in Golden State, Brooklyn and Phoenix.
Now that KD has declined with age, I'm not sure he adds more value to the team than Brooks because the Suns effectively traded 1:1 since Green is injured and Maluach isn't in the rotation yet.
Does it even matter if he raises the floor of every team he's been on?Correlation =/= causality. The teams may have done those things in spite of him, instaead of because of him. I mean if he was really that guy,why do teams keep moving on from him?
I didn't say Spurs should be after him, I just said that his contributions are underrated because of his antics.Since the subject of acquiring him has been raised, it kind of does. We have enough floor and ceiling raisers now, and just need a few exact fit pieces.
Is that Charles Bassey's music?!?!
Maybe Milutinov is finally coming over.Is that Charles Bassey's music?!?!
Delta blues? I dig it. Much of that is pain and redemption and I can see it for him.Is that Charles Bassey's music?!?!
The Spurs say no easily. Bilal has been a bust up to this point. He's wing equivalent of Sochan.Who says no?
WAS: Young
SAS: Bilal (hurt currently)
ATL: Middleton + Olynk + return 27FRP (top 4 protected)
Also works with Sochan instead of KO but I think that would change the protections for me (Top 10).
I think it's early to label him a bust, but certainly lost a lot of his value and his rookie contract is running out. Definitely worth a look at the right price IMO but that's a far cry from a high variance pick. The Spurs say no easily. Bilal has been a bust up to this point. He's wing equivalent of Sochan.
