Y aou play Wemby, and he goes down in game #82, when we had the #2 seed locked up a week and a half ago. Now it doesn’t really matter who,you play in the second round.

FWIW, Wemby was supposedly in some discomfort against Dallas.

He was rubbing his rib cage several times Friday night; just not being obvious about it.

Which is totally fine and very defensible. Just at that point (and with Kornet also out) do a proper punt and sit Castle, Fox etc. Spurs tried to have their cake and eat it too and got neither.

At the end of the day, this playoffs is all about data collection/big game experience to see who is real and who isn’t going forward. If the Spurs are a legit 2 seed then we will see the 2nd round and not embarrass ourselves. If not, we will get punked like the Rockets last year.

I do think from a pure title odds perspective our chances went down a little by being on Denver’s side of the bracket. Their record with Gordon available this year is absolutely elite (27-9).
