Game Thread Spurs (62-19) vs Nuggets (53-28) (Sunday 4/12/26) [7:30PM CDT]

also lol @ anyone thinking lakers aren’t taking this last game seriously.

The most blatantly-tanking team of the decade vs lestatpad? He wouldn’t miss this for the world
Any team would rather play us than OKC tbh. Nuggets included, which is why they'll want to win this one too.

Not for the ticket paying fans, who everyone was allegedly so concerned about when they were in an uproar over Utah and Indiana

I mean having your team rest players at the end of the season because they've played hard and well all season with more important games to play is just not the same as throwing an entire season and actively avoiding competing all year. Yeah fans in the final games might get screwed in the same way, but we're talking about a weeks worth of games vs a seasons worth of games. Or months at best.

You can say the same thing about resting players to tank to give your team YEARS worth of more meaningful games. There is simply no escaping this. People claimed we needed to punish Utah and Indiana to think of the poor fans… as if those fans don’t know what their team is doing when they buy their tickets.

Bottom line: just let teams do what they feel is in their best interest. Fans will stop supporting the team if they don’t agree, but let them decide… not some league office bureaucrat.

Finally, our game. Looks like the headbands didn’t make it past warmups.

I mean I've said I don't think it needs to be fixed, but also I think its disingenuous to compare resting starters a few games at the end of the season to tanking. They are not the same and your example here might hold if we didn't have teams like the Kings, Wizards, Bulls, etc who have been tanking for ages and never improve.
