Game Thread Spurs (59-18) @ Nuggets (49-28) (Sat 4/4/2026) [2:00PM CDT]

Agree 100%. Fox was bad today, but bad shooting nights happen. Making a bone headed foul on that 4pt play should never happen though. Was like Manu’s stupid foul on Dirk - just gave the game away for no good reason.

Also agree with this 100%. We hadn’t played against any adversity in quite awhile and it seemed like that rubbed off on our guys. I’ll take a tough road OT loss against an all-timer having another all-time game (Jokic I’m referring to here). I wouldn’t want to go into the playoffs on a 16-game win streak where we are blowing everyone out… It’s good we got punched in the mouth in a game that, let’s face it, means zero to our regular season seeding.

This was a learning moment and we’re an extremely resilient team who has proven time and time again that we will learn and bounce back. I hope this one stings Wemby, Fox and Keldon (Wemby played great, but just the sting of defeat motivates him) and they bounce back with a vengeance.

Amazing, truly bucket list stuff. Already told my supplier rep we are doing this again next year 😂. Can’t believe I got to watch Wemby and Jokic go at it from a couple feet away and they put on an epic battle. Not sad at all about what I got to watch today… thank god none of the drama queens in this post are allowed in public, I don’t think arena staff are trained to deal with people committing suicide in the stands.

Keldon missed 3 or 4 threes literally right in front of me. Rotation was solid, shoots were good, they just rimmed out. It happens, but he’ll bounce back.

One play I asked @Ice009 to remind me about… Braun set up right in front of me, I could practically smell his asshole, on an inbounds play… and literally no one bothered to guard him. Luke and Dylan just kind of stared at each other and they made the easiest inbound for a 3 in history. Braun looked amazing tonight, dude could not miss - I know he hasn’t shot great this year, but you wouldn’t know it from this game. He looked like Prime Klay out there.

I have so many other thoughts from this experience, but I’ll just leave with a shout out to the Denver crowd. There was a good turnout of us Spurs fans in attendance but there was zero hostility from anyone on either side (probably because the suicide squad isn’t allowed in public). After the game, we all just talked about what an amazing 7 game series this will be if we meet again. Respect to the Denver fans and the staff… true class acts (maybe it helps when you are in seats like this).
Whenever I see this, first thing that pops into my mind is that 2011-2012 team - finished the regular season on something like an 8 game win streak, blew a bunch of teams out, swept the first two rounds of the playoffs, looked like the greatest team of all time for a stretch during game 2 against the Thunder in the WCF, and then the wheels completely came off in painful fashion.

Moving screens definitely not something refs give AF about because they are so obvious and the refs are staring right at them.

Wemby shot 17 FT tonight and honestly could have had 10 more. I do not know how refs decide when to call a foul… it’s like holding in football, they could call a foul on every play if they wanted to.
Those are the ones they hold in their pocket and only start calling when they want to "Bavetta" a 4th quarter like game 6 WCF 2002.

Lost in OT to a good team on the road
3rd game in 4 days
Disappointed the way it ended but not overly bothered.
Yeah it's not a bad loss at all, but it was an important game. Would have been great to win and help the lakers keep hold on the 3 seed as the Spurs are almost certainly going to be the 2. Lakers cant matchup up with the Spurs at all and would be great to watch this Denver team (or Minnesota) get their shot at OKC in the 2nd round as they both present problems for OKC.

I also dont think this Spurs team needed a loss. These dudes are resilient and tough. What happened today wont have anything to do with what they do in the playoffs other than if it decides if they have to play Denver in the 2nd round rather than LA.

How did vassell miss that alley oop dunk?

Also, mitch needed to use all his timeouts in a game like this if he knew wemby was going to play all of the 4th qtr and all of OT…

Wemby runs out of gas- but with strategic timeouts he can still dominate in the closing of games…hope mitch thinks about his playoff strategy as wemby will need to play longer but to leave him out on the floor while hoarding your timeouts is a recipe for L’s

Did you get close to his ear and whisper, “I love you, Fox”?

Fuck, now we know why he was so rattled tonight. I would airball the ball too if that happened.
I’m actually amazed how locked in these guys are and able to ignore the crowd altogether. I know there are the incidents where it turns ugly, but for the most part I’m not sure these guys even notice the fans are there

Did you get to greet any of them before the game?

Did the players shake hands after the game? Any animosity?

I was on the wrong side of the court for that unfortunately. Did get to see all the Nuggets come out from the locker room right in front of me. The size of these guys in person blew me away. And then when the dancers come out its hilarious in comparison

That’s unfortunate, bro. It would have been a great opportunity to tell them you run a hardcore Spurs fan forum with a couple people and that we create game threads for every game where no one acts unhinged at all.

I can’t even imagine… lol

"RobDiaz is a legend"- KJ and the boys tbh

Getting out-executed by them twice late in streak-busting games is a bit of a worry, no? I have to admit, my confidence in beating them in a series has waned. Despite them being uncharacteristically bad in the clutch this season they were able to outdo us because they still know their stuff better than we do in these situations. It has the makings of Dallas-OKC 2024 type of series.
They cried and whined and worked the refs. We just need ti execute and we kill them.
