Game Thread Spurs (59-18) @ Nuggets (49-28) (Sat 4/4/2026) [2:00PM CDT]

Call it cope all you want. But the best thing that could have happened to this team's long term championship aspirations was a Loss today tbh. Specifically this type of loss.

Damn its come to the point where I agree with Mugen almost all the fucking time. Dude must be getting old.

Nice shots!!! I imagine you hear all the trash talk and complaining as well!???
Not much trash talk at all honestly! Definitely heard the complaining, mostly by Jokic and THJ lol.

THJ seems like he might be a closet psychopath the way he was crashing out at the refs. Before the game during intros someone in the crowd yelled to him to make some 3s and he yelled back “how about we just fucking win” lol.

Moving screens definitely not something refs give AF about because they are so obvious and the refs are staring right at them.

Wemby shot 17 FT tonight and honestly could have had 10 more. I do not know how refs decide when to call a foul… it’s like holding in football, they could call a foul on every play if they wanted to.

I won’t complain about the refs though, honestly it kind of favored us if anything tonight. We got away with one blatant goaltend that would have been an And-1 and there was one other foul that went our way that I thought was a really bad call. I don’t think it was super favorable to us, but it was pretty even and we got probably 2 calls we shouldn’t have… at the same time, they did miss a bunch of fouls by both teams.

Not bothered by the loss but by the manner. I think Denver out-vet and out-executed them from behind twice, busting their streak both times. That's not a nothingburger

Jokic is an impossible guard and Gordon knew exactly what the Spurs wanted to do and knocked Victor out of it, forcing him into one of those dreaded attack off the dribble from outside the three point line possessions we all hate. Gotta give props to a veteran team who knows how to win these kind of games and does the little things that end up mattering big. Still could have won if Fox didn't still have some Sacramento King in him though FFS.

I mean its not like Fox has been through a lot of these games. He's played in ONE playoff series. He's almost as raw as the rest of the team. They're all going to have to learn how to do this on the fly - and they most likely won't. Just like no one expected this team to win 60 games, I sure AF am not expecting a title. I don't think its impossible, but I think its far more likely that the playoffs rear their ugly head either against Denver, OKC, or Boston. It is HARD, and while the Spurs are good, and they are rolling and beating almost everyone, they aren't so good that they are better than a coinflip against those teams. Maybe 55-45 or 60-40 against Denver, but even then that still means you lose a series 40% of the time!!!!

I think I'd go 55-45 vs Denver, 35-65 vs OKC, and 75-25 vs Boston in those respective series.

It is what is the Nuggets will be a hard matchup that possibly will go the distance of 7 games. Part of growing pains for a young team is that they usually have to find a way to overcome an experienced team like the Nuggets. Last year OKC was pushed to the limits by the Nuggets and even had a game or two during the playoffs in which they choked away to the Nuggets just like the Spurs did today.
