Game Thread Spurs (46-17) vs Rockets (39-23) (Sun 03/08/26) [7:00PM CDT]

Spurs have surely lapped the Rockets.. Adams & FVV aren't changing that for Houston. It all boils down to them not getting a top tier blue chipper from years of tanking..It's not all about luck they have whiffed on at least a couple of picks.

Yeah. Putting aside Wemby and barely missing out on him... getting Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr, and Reed Sheppard out of their top four picks is bad business.

I think what I love most about this team is how flawed I thought this roster would be, yet they’re playing nearly unstoppable right now…and it looks fairly sustainable
It took a while to install the defensive rotations where Wemby stays floating around the middle as much as possible. Then it took a while to get the ball moving the correct way...

Most of the players that have extremely obvious flaws either fixed them (Keldon threes, Castle shooting (sometimes) or got cut (Sochan)

Or simply that the Spurs have built a winning strategy with their roster construction and style of play that teams can’t figure out. Three point guard offense and running a wing at the forward position. All by design, baby.

What a beatdown, it was almost a little boring to watch for a while :st-lol: but always gotta appreciate beating on the Rockettes. Plenty of their fans were fully onboard the "Sengun > Wemby" train after the game where Wemby had a bum shoulder (which ended up being the DVT one??)...... So it's extra sweet to put that notion to rest with a pummeling.

Spurs are just playing crazy good ball right now, it's amazing. They mostly take in-rhythm and good-quality 3's, the guards are playing much better with their drives and incorporating Wemby offensively, and their offense is just suffocating. Carter Bryant continues to perfectly play the part - he's a bit shy with his shot attempts, which he'll have to shake off in the playoffs, but it's a breath of fresh air from when Fox decides to go trigger happy lol. He's a beast physically, easily stands out on defense, and actually banged the drum with rhythm tonight. Spurs are just looking ready for the playoffs.

Sweet dreams are made of this... :st-danceclub:

The Rockets franchise is getting their due for constantly cutting corners. It’s beautiful to see.
