Game Thread Spurs (43-16) @ Knicks (38-22) (Sun 03/01/26) [12:00 PM CST]

i dont get the fox hate. He’s trying to give the keys to victor and castle to take over games. Just look at his fga he’s not taking too many shots. He understands that he’s not the superstar of this team.
But hes also contradicting himself of wanting a max contract.

No point in overthinking anything before the playoffs.
We're paying him to deliver in May. If he doesn't, serious questions will be asked this summer.

Too many free days in NYC for the team, tbh.
He is mightily struggling with most defenses are in second gear, you think he can bring it against playoffs D? Even Derozan was more consistent than him as a scorer and off-dribble creator

what the heck did this team get into for the two days they were off?

Need to take care of business Tuesday night in Philly with Embiid out.

Epic ass kicking tbh. Fuck the Knicks though. Overrated Eastern conference scrubs. Cowboys of the NBA

Bridges is a GOAT candidate every time they play.
he had 13 and 11 in both games we played them this year? we may be over estimating what he does against this team this year. NY hit their shots and Spurs did not..SPurs will get better, we wont see this team again unless its in the finals. if the Spurs can make it out the West, i doubt they would be scared of any team in the NBA

This wasn't second gear.
I'm not sure why are you trying to prove your point by over-exaggerating, no need for that.

It's been an issue this season, we struggled in a lot of games with two days of rest.

No need to go full doomer mode over one loss, as bad as it was.
This was the second most difficult road game we had left after the game in Denver.

Shit loss but like @LeBowen said, no point in bitching about so and so player until the playoffs start. Kinda just ready for the postseason to begin so I can stop cringing at some of these over emotional game loss meltdowns.

Fox is a max contract player. He’s mentoring which is equally important, but comes playoffs rotations will be tightened including who’s taking shots and what not

Derozan didint play with wemby and was the first option when he was with spurs. Fox understands that he’s not here for scoring. You can see the the drop off on his stats ever since he was traded on the spurs. His stats decreased tremendously especially his scoring.

I don't believe it was the case, but some would say Castle-KAT matchup was an experiment to see if we can put Castle on the likes of Randle and Gordon if needed.
Spoiler alert: we can't.

It started with Barnes two TO. Plus necessitated Castle on KAT instead of Barnes on KAT, and leaving the true head of snake Brunson to run a mock. Barnes has really become a liability on both sides imo

Well, do we come out angry against Philadelphia or do we come out mentally a little bit deflated against Philadelphia off this blowout?

I wasn’t able to catch this one. What accounted for the loss? Did Fox shit the bed again?

Thats exactly why hes here.He was brought to score and help get pressure off of wemby.

Stay tuned and find out on Tuesday.

We're finally done with the road trip after that game and will have just 8 road and 13 home games to close out the season.
One game in Denver being the highest difficulty matchup, with Heat and Warriors as the only other possibly difficult road games.

We were up early, Knicks got a couple of bs calls and we just disappeared.
Kept chucking 3s even though noone could make shit, got killed on the boards as per usual and could never get back to within less than 8.
Turnovers were horrible, just a bad game by everyone.

Flush the game tape. Nothing to learn/nothings changed recently—barnes a liability on both sides of the ball, fox inconsistent, can’t defend the 3, can’t rebound.

Depends if Mitch decides to give Maxey the Brunson treatment and put Castle on him the first 6 minutes of the game, and then only play him when Maxey subs out.

I can see this for sure. I think he was always an inevitable replacement this summer, but the Spurs over-performing this year is exposing a key weakness in the team.
