Game Thread Spurs (42-16) @ Nets (15-42) (Thur 02/26/26) [6:30 PM CST]

I pity some folks who travel and pay to see Vic play and see him stink it up again and again.

OK. I'ma end my worrisome infatuation with Wemby. There's 14 other players on the team, I know.

Could Nolan Traore been the guard the French national team has been desperately searching for?

Can't watch the game so just being a box score hero for now. Wemby with the 0% shooting again eh.

To me he's just hitting a slump & forcing a little bit. Not worried.

IIRC he looked slow on the defensive end last year before that diagnosis. He’s still locked in defensively, think it’s just really a major slump at this point
He's probably just resigned himself to thinking this is the way to win. Be so utterly unselfish on offense that you'll let the other little guys score. Just fade into the background like a molding palimpsest. A decoy, a figurehead.
Spurs org really is something else. They've squeezed the alpha out of the kid.
Not sure how this flies in the playoffs when teams lock in on the role players and you'd need a star to pull you though.
Can we trust Vic to just shed his NPC robes come the postseason and will the team to the Finals? Can he just flip the switch... just like that?
Or do we trust Julian fucking Champagnie to carry us to the promise land?

I dont worry much about his mentality tbh. Kid has massive ego and competitive fire. I give him some slack, tho I also fully expect it to bite us in the ass in the playoffs. But then again, you need those reps in order to get better the next time…

He just gotta pretend he's facing chet every night. It's all good

This Nets team is awful, but the rest of the Spurs are playing with a whole another level of confidence now.
This team is good.

He needs those reps, badly. It's not like he's already that automatic on O that he can afford to let the others take his shine constantly. He's still developing himself, too.
He's a very complex individual, though. Speaks and sounds like the most fiery competitor out there, but also shows huge signs of meekness and passivity.

None of Vic's moves seem to have any urgency or conviction. He's just kind of drifitng around with long, wide steps... picks up the ball 1-2, and then just hopes something happens. There's nothing crisp about it, no snap to his movements.

This is what im saying time and time again.lmao spurs org is BS and not agood destination for a superstar.

Sounds fine to me. Superstars need to find ways to conserve energy/their bodies. No need to go all out against a team that isn’t even trying to win

Yup that’s why Im not convinced we can win it all this year. But its all good
