Game Thread Spurs (23-7) vs Jazz (10-19) (Sat 12/27/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

Hope Harper can start if Fox is not playing. But it would be more optimal for Harper to sub Castle and start Champ.

And tell DJG to start warming up

Keyonte George is a good young player tbh. Averaging 24 pts, 4 rbs, 7 asts, & 1 stl this year on 36% from 3. He's streaky, but he can turn it on in the blink of an eye and get hot. He's got 27 pts at the start of the 4th.

That is all star numbers tbh

Jazz win by 2. Terrible loss for Detroit, especially considering Utah was doing everything they could to give that game away the final 3 minutes.

On the plus side, Jazz winning tonight means they prolly don't go as hard tomorrow night.
Yea I was content so long as it went down to the wire so Utah would have to play their starters a lot of minutes. Mission accomplished. Hopefully they're gassed tomorrow. They're mostly a young team though tbh so they might be fine. They're also terrible defensively though. Spurs guards should be attacking downhill relentlessly tomorrow night.

Cade Cunningham and LeVert were just atrocious in the last 5 minutes. Nurkic was trying to tank the game away while Cade and LeVert just threw up bricks or threw the ball out of bounds.

Jazz are 7-10 at home this year so not a pushover. Also have the best looking home court in the L imo.

OKC getting two top 10 picks is a nightmare for the Spurs tbh.
I might be taking crazy pills... but I get the sense that LAC is gonna make that play-in while the Jazz fall into the Top 8 and OKC will get no Top 10 picks. At least that's my hope.

Hope so tbh. Blazers, Mavs, and Jazz all have no reason to aim for the play-in with three franchise-level players available in this draft.

Clippers don't seem to want to tank so hopefully they stay within play-in range. They still have the talent to achieve that even with how washed they are.

I don't get why folks are worried about OKC getting picks. I'd gladly give the Thunder 1 and 9 if the Spurs got the second pick again. I was rooting for Portland to pull out their win, because I want them to pass Atlanta up. What that means for OKC didn't even cross my mind.

If the Thunder took Petterson I'd be fine with it tbh. The thought of them having Dybantsa and Dort on the wings terrifies me.

That’s pretty flawed logic is it not. The chances of the Thunder getting a top pick with Clippers losses are much higher than the Spurs getting a top pick with Blazers losses. You need about 5-7 teams to continue losing for the Hawks to keep dropping in the standings and then you also need the Hawks to keep losing.

You look at Detroits roster and wonder how they were 26-6 first in east. Then you look at their schedule and see all the shit east teams and you realize how bad the east is. We really should have beat the Knicks.

No, because I don't care if the Thunder get the top pick. I don't think the Spurs should be scared of them no matter what. For me, the only thing I care about is the Spurs getting a higher pick, whether that's to select a player or have a higher-value trade asset. I'm not concerned about what any other team does.

So to put it into perspective, closing the gap between the Hawks' record and that over teams like Utah and Portland is way more valuable to me than LAC getting wins or Utah staying in the top eight. So if that results in the Spurs getting 10 and OKC getting 1 and 9, so be it.

Trae back. Their team just got worse. Half this the board wanted that trash two years ago. lol
