Game Thread Spurs (23-7) vs Jazz (10-19) (Sat 12/27/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

I'm pretty sure the Jazz will fire up the tank sooner rather than later. They are not going anywhere at the moment with their team, so why would they risk a potentially really high pick in a draft that is projected to be good and deep?

Surely they arent including the cup finals where we gave up a ton of offensive rebounds that cost us the cup.
None of those stats count.

If we start getting worked on the boards again by NY this week, I want a quick hook on Barnes and a heavy dose of Keldon.

That’s pretty flawed logic is it not. The chances of the Thunder getting a top pick with Clippers losses are much higher than the Spurs getting a top pick with Blazers losses. You need about 5-7 teams to continue losing for the Hawks to keep dropping in the standings and then you also need the Hawks to keep losing.
Hawks schedule for like the next dozen is brutal. A slide is almost baked into the situation. Sometimes, you need a short term loss like Portland last night for a long term cause, the Clippers climbing the standings.

Of the teams in the lottery, only the bottom three appear to be hard tanking. There’s a whole group between 4 and 10 slots that are between 6-4 and 4-6 in their last 10.

Looks like Harper will be getting his first career start then. Hope he balls out. Utah's defense is horrible, no reason for him not to have a big game tonight tbh.
Nah, they’re not taking away the 48 minute of elite guard play advantage they have. Bump this post if I’m wrong, lol.

On Nov. 29 in Denver, Jokic and the Nuggets fell at home to a Wemby-less Spurs team. In the hallway afterward, a kid asked him if he still planned to win more titles with the Nuggets. Jokic smiled:“You know, it’s going to be tough. OKC is playing well right now. And then there’s San Antonio. They’re going to be very hard to beat in the next few years.”

I mean Mitch can easily stagger Castle/Harper so one is always on the floor, but I think it's going to be Champ in the starting lineup.

They changed it to 15 minute intervals for injury reports, must be because of betting degenerates.

DJG questionable, he should get some minutes tonight.

I was going to suggest it would be a nice gesture to let Harper start vs Ace Bailey, Harper has certainly earned it, but looks like Bailey left the game last night with a hip flexor and he may miss some games. Bummer, as I was looking forward to checking in on Ace's game.

IMO Mitch will keep Harper off the bench so he gets used to his role (this season at least)

Vassell will be back in the starting 5
