Game Thread Spurs (15-6) @ Cavs (13-10) (Fri 12/5/25) [6:30PM CDT]

Kornet clearly tweaked the ankle against Orlando but played through it.
I just knew right then and there that he'd be in the next injury report.
Hopefully it's very minor and he plays
 
Allen being out is the key for the Spurs. That dude has been a monster when we played against the Cavs allowing their three point scorers to bomb away because he picked up ORBs or was such a terror in the paint that the Spurs let down their guard on the perimeter.

That said, Kornet's absence will be tough. It might boil down to a shoot-a-thon between Spida and Swipa.

Darn, just had a look, wouldn't mind getting him. I've always wanted a German player on the Spurs and this kid would fill a real position of need. Don't think we've ever had a German player on the Spurs, have they? Would be cool to have yet another player from a different country on the Spurs to make them an even more global team. Question for the German posters? Do the Spurs have many fans in Germany? I'm guessing a lot of them are Mavericks or Magic fans.

Listening to lots of German NBA-related podcasts and by looking at the majority of the questions related to teams its definitely the Lakers and the Mavericks. Magic are catching on of course - all German Magic fans want to have Banchero gone :LOL: Spurs are mid-tier I guess. But am I not enough? :D

:LOL: You guys are cool (I think there's only two on you BB, or is there more posters I'm missing?), but would love to get some backing for the Spurs from a lot more. I always felt that Dirk would have been a great Spur. Even though I absolutely hated the Mavericks, never did I hate Dirk which is rare of all the Spurs' main rival players. I didn't like Shaq, I didn't like Lebron, didn't like KD, Westbrook, Harden etc., didn't like most of the Spurs rivals. I also wanted the Spurs to look at signing Moe Wagner this offseason, but I guess him being injured, there was no chance of that happening. Plus, I assume he wanted to stick with his brother on the Magic. Could he have played both PF and C? I thought he might have been a good fit.

I forgot about the Lakers. Darn Lakers. They got fans everywhere.

With a healthy LeBum we can. That dude is hurting the Lakers more than anything and they can‘t guard any of our players either. Luka, Reaves and LeGM ain‘t stopping anybody.
 
Shit. Can't they look at signing someone more competent than Bismack? Are they going to start Jeremy at Center?
 
Did I say they need to sign a starter as a third stringer? I just said someone that's more competent, as in, better than Bismack. Bismack, I don't think is an NBA level player anymore (even as a third stringer). I just want a competent third stringer.

Any big that's not a negative defender can easily get regular minutes on a lot of teams.
Meaning we're not getting one unless they want to join the Spurs specifically.
The only thing we can do is try to find another reclamation project like Bassey and hope that he's got functional knees.
