Game Thread Spurs (1-0) @ Pelicans (0-1) (Fri 10/24/25) [7:00 PM CDT]

I think it's simply a matter of Fox being out. Harper was mostly playing SG last night (and JMac was playing I think all of his minutes alongside Harper) so merely a matter of filling up the available minutes

Watched the Pels game against Memphis from last night: Queen looked…heavy. Fears played more than expected. Stay at home on shooters and play physical on Zion since they can’t call every foul. Home opener for NOP so should be plenty of energy in that building.

Defensive game plan in this one, IMO, is let Zion do whatever he will against Barnes/CB (assuming we won't have Sochan or KO back... this is a game we could use them) and then just make sure we're shutting down everything on the perimeter. Don't let Jordan Poole, TMIII and Herb Jones kill us from the 3PT line and we'll be fine.
Not worried about tm, had worse game than Dev again proving analyst wrong

After last night’s outing against the front court of AD/Lively and Flagg (mostly defending guards though), I have more confidence on how our bigs defend the paint tbh

I expect Wemby to come back down to earth a bit tomorrow night sadly. Would love to be wrong of course, but it'll be hard to duplicate that kind of performance. Looking forward to some of the matchups on the perimeter though and hopefully we can contain Zion this time around. A 2-0 start to the season with the Nets on deck would be groovy. GSG.

Totally different game. Opening night excitement is gone. New Orleans hat no big frontcourt like Dallas and they looked solid against Memphis. Now Victor has to show he wants to be awesome EVERY night.
The rest of the team will follow.

mclaughlin wasn't horrible, especially at the start where harper needed some time to adjust.
As long as he doesn't get abused in d it's fine for him to get spot minutes.

I think Lindy would be ahead of bin ll him were he healthy.

Sochan would be the best guy to guard Zion but he’s out. If they don’t have a starting center that kinda solves it cause we can put Wemby on him. Otherwise playing Wemby and Kornet for stretches seems like a good move.
