Which one of these guys should the Spurs trade to bring in some actual help for the team

I was ready to write Vassell off. He's actually trying on defense and that makes him a very valuable player to our team to manage minutes if we have random injuries. But, if our team is healthy and Vassell is playing well, I would see it as a perfect opportunity to unload his contract and even get some future swaps or something.

It's Vassell, and it's an obvious choice even when he has decent game like today. Hopefully he can put together a good couple of months until february and someone bites, Spurs can do a lot better breaking his contract into pieces that provide what they need.

Vassell is playing within his role and doing what needs to be done with Fox out.

If we whittle all these role players down to lesser players simply because we want to collect bargain contracts we’re gonna suffer when our main players are out from injury. These lesser players will be exposed and exploited.

I’d rather have solid role players than consolidating down.

Of course this is predicated on these guys staying in their lane like they have been doing.

If we move guys it should be for significant upgrades not contractual consolidation.

I wanted to trade him for Giannis but Spurstalk had a conniption over the idea. Castle will always be pretty good but Giannis is a top 5 player in his prime. Easy choice for me (and only me apparently)

But I’m not sure who we’d even trade Castle for. His salary isn’t that much so it’d have to be for someone also in a rookie deal

Vassell still sucks. He gets my vote. He's an inefficient chucker and I don't think he'll ever be anything more.

If Sochan comes back and still can't shoot, then he might overtake him. This team desperately needs shooters around Wemby and right now we still don't have many and it fucking kills us. It's the main reason all these games come down to the wire. That and FT shooting.

Yeah I’m one of the ones against that. Giannis is on the tail end of his prime. With the way Wembys game has developed this season I think it’s obvious that he would have stifled his development or emergence.

I like the next 10 years of Castle and Wemby vs the next 3 years of Giannis.

I don't know. We haven't seen him yet, and Barnes has spared it up for 2 games. If that keeps up Sochan will get his chance to take that starting job.

I chose multiple. There has to be some way they can solidify the PF/SF situation by converting 2 players into someone of need. Whether it's KJ/Sochan or Vassell/Sochan. Will be a win. They didn't extend Sochan for a reason. May as well try get something out of him by including him as a filler in a trade

As long as the coaches pull him when he's hurting the cause and he gets paid like a deeper bench piece from his next contract on I'm fine with it. Think Barnes and Sochan may also be moved if an intriguing piece becomes available.

He had his moments tonight, but he definitely wasn't a plus like last game tbh. That said, the only two tonight to play well throughout were Wemby and Kornet imo.

Oh well, I mean, your trade idea obviously isn't a bad one. I am may be one of the biggest Castle fans around and did not want him traded under any circumstances, but man, the Giannis proposal to me is a lot due to Giannis' age. I'd be worried about his game due to his athleticism. It really might be overthinking, but that's where I am at in regard to trading really darn good young players for him. I also don't like the idea of gutting the team and sending out all the assets the Spurs have acquired, cause if it doesn't work out, we're left with nothing.

I really hope Steph becomes a good shooter (it will unlock his game). Should never have missed those free throws at the end. He needs to have more confidence in his shot, especially at the free throw line. Bad turnovers too on the lob to Kornet and then losing it out of bounds after the timeout. Very fortunate to get the win.
