Exactly. And the interesting part about that stretch is that Devin Vassell was injured. As soon as he got back we started dominating again. He’s super important to our success. I feel very confident about that.
 
If Ayo is out in addition to Ant and Donte, I think the very short 8-man rotation MIN is forced to roll with (and Clark only played 12 minutes and Bones only 9 in that Game 6) is an opportunity for some heavy Hydra lineups from Mitch.

If they roll with Randle-McDaniels-Gobert-Conley-Shannon, I think you can definitely match that up with Fox/Castle/Harper/Wemby + 1, and maybe it’s Keldon for some rare 1-2-3-4-5 minutes (only 2 minutes all season, IIRC). On D, Keldon on Randle, Wemby on Goober, Castle on McDaniels, Harper on Shannon and Fox on Conley. The only real weak spot would be whether Keldon can hold up against Randle, but he’s probably the best option.

On offense, McDaniels would take Fox, Randle on Wemby, Gobert on Castle, but that leaves Harper and Keldon matched up against Shannon or Conley… and who ever is on Conley can straight abuse him.

In this case, I expect Gobert to be straight played off the floor, but with Naz in for him that gives you an opportunity to insert Dev or Champ for Keldon I think.

So…. I think more Hydra is coming (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it)

Keldon or CB. Castle to some extend. Randle won't be a threat.. he is too stupid. I see 3 key players for TPups - Ayo, Naz and Jaden
 
I will start saving my money for the hundreds of dollars I will spend driving to San Antonio for my free taco from Taco Palenque. At least I don't have to fly in, from say Hawaii!

I randomly came across this huge Spurs fan in Tokyo on IG and started following him… he flew to SA for the Wolves series so he’s got me beat :st-lol:

The Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson injuries were huge. Irreplaceable, long, active defenders that added that athletic component.

This series is going to be tough. I fully expect it will be tied 2-2 heading back for the pivotal game 5.
Only a day off between each game? Wowsers.

The physicality…. Unquantifiable for this young team.

I believe this will be the Dylan Harper series. With their depleted roster and allocation of gameplan resources, they don’t appear to have a consistent matchup for him.

I expect 16-20, 7, 7 type lines.
 
Just looking at this by the "chalk" the Spurs are leading a charmed life.

The Spurs as as #2 seed face the the Blazers as the #7 seed (who actually were the #8 seed going into the play-in).

Then the Spurs face the #6 seed (rather than #3 seed) in the 2nd round.

The only better thing would be that the Spurs get the #4 seed or #5 seed in the WCF rather than the #1 seed -- OKC.

But, alas, that ain't going to happen.

not only playing the 6 seed, but the 6 seed who will be missing their best player for a good amount of the series, and with one of their top (and most clutch) role players also out for the year

to be seen if Dosunmu, the primary backup for both those guys, will be able to suit up for game 1

spurs are also very fortunate to be fully healthy right now, while the rest of the west is missing critical players. OKC has J-Dub out. Lakers have Luka out. Rockets have KD out (and already had 2 major season enders with FVV and Adams). as mentioned, Wolves have major injuries.

some of that is luck, and some of that is the spurs not regularly playing lead guys 38+ minutes because they have strong depth

Yeah, this is about as easy of a WCF appearance as you’ll ever get :st-lol: Although it’s looking like OKC’s path isn’t going to be any more difficult with them playing Phoenix and a Luka-less Lakes team. Both SA/OKC have had some very favorable luck.

hey man, houston has game 6 at home today to force a game 7. i dont think either has much chance, but houston matches up with OKC slightly better than the lakers imo, particularly if KD is able to play
