Game Thread Playoffs Round 2, Game 1: Spurs vs Timberwolves (0-0) (Mon 05/04/2026) [Start Time TBD]

I think CB has a chance to have a really good / breakout series tbh.

There's nobody healthy on the Wolves right now that can consistently foul bait like Deni tbh which was CB's biggest "issue" against Portland. Would love to see him get mins on McDaniels and Naz Reid.

The Spurs have a chance to advance to the Western finales without playing too much, which they'll need as OKC is probably going to sweep their opponent or go 4-1. Then, it'll be the best series of the entire playoffs, the finales will be easier for the winner

The Spurs have a real chance this year, they got Portland in the first round, which was probably the best matchup for them, they play the Wolves without Edwards and avoid the Nuggets their worst matchup. Next is OKC, they played them really well during the year, in the finales NY and Boston are the two tough teams for the Spurs and Boston might be out.

Makes me a little nervous how big of favorites we are + how everyone is writing off Minnesota...but there's really no reason this should go beyond 5 games unless Ant miraculously returns quicker than expected and plays like the best version of himself. They simply don't have the offensive firepower to consistently score against our defense given their lack of health. I expect them to struggle to break 100 points tbh.

If the Spurs don't read their own press clippings, and if they can learn to put together a decent effort, everything will be fine. The biggest problem is that they're a young team that's prone to cold spots and prone to letting their foot off the gas.

Minn would have been a tough draw without the injuries. Still isn't going to be as easy as Spur fans think.
