Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 3: Blazers vs Spurs (1-1) (Fri 04/26/2026) [9:30 CDT]

First post of the year. Was member of SpursTalk since 2005. Been focused on work deadlines and life, but didn't miss a game all year. Good to see lots of familiars and new faces here. Shoutout to @scott.

Last night was a kick in the nuts for sure, but this series is far from over. Fox and Barnes are the ones that are supposed to help the guys weather these next few games. If the coaches are flexible, I think we're gonna find that Harper and Bryant are gonna be more effective. I hope they get minutes when the game's on the line. We're gonna learn a lot about this squad in the next couple of weeks. Friday will be fun.
Welcome over! Glad you made it!

Im sure it’s been mentioned but not having Wemby can be what this team needs. One of those blessing in disguise things. If we are to win a championship, the guys need to learn to win without him. Going on the road without your star player as a young team can feel daunting but if they pull together and pull out a win, it can be something that benefits this team in the long run.
Of course this team can also end up unraveling and fall apart. We shall see

Hopefully we win this series tbh. Okc aint really all that, from 60-40 in favor of OKC, Im moving to 50-50 shot for us. Our championship is really vs Denver tbh.

Fox and Castle backcourt has been rough so far. Short sample size ofc, but pretty telling tbh. Mitch might need to stagger their minutes more if this continues.

Our staff too stupid to follow analytics. They need to start Harper and fox. bring Castle off bench. We won two games in reg season against portland without Castle. He was hurt.

If we were playing Phoenix, I'd agree... but against Portland, we're still the better team without Wemby. We have plenty of evidence to back this up, including our 3 regular season matchups against this exact team.
I would feel much better about this situation if Dylan's thumb wasn't messed up. When healthy I think he's capable of stopping Scoot like he did in the last regular season game that he faced up against him.

I never expect the day will come this forum will talk about how to stoo scoot henderson. Lol
It's a very low point where we are at right now lol. I never expected this guy to go off like he's prime Stephen Curry but here we are.

Champ needs to be guarding his ass. He cheated over big time to double team Deni, leaving Camara open by 10 feet for a critical trey.
When we still had the lead.
Stoopid shit like that is super low BB IQ strategy.
champ plays stupid BB. i dont care he is cheap and can get hot from three

Actually it is not too late for scoot. If he somehow get confidence in this series. There is a possibility he can carry it next season and become a better player.

Keldon is averaging 5 points/game.
Bigger teams like Portland often give him trouble. Two of his worst games this season were against them. Their size with Clingan/Timelord is a lot to deal with for a guy who's 6'5, even if he plays bigger than that. He basically has to hit his open 3's this series to be effective.

The key to Game 3 would be to limit Portland’s second chances IMO, I would probably reduce our usual offensive board crashing in favor of getting back on defense ASAP and boxing them out when they miss, we might not have the size advantage with Wemby out, but our guys should match their toughness and intensity, specially when Kornet is not on the floor; I trust our guys, Keldon and CB have the physicality to challenge their guys…Offensively we know that some of our players are hit and miss, but Fox and Castle got to step up and play up to the expectations…anywho, just an opinion fron a couch fan…Go Spurs Go 🤠!
