Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 3: Blazers vs Spurs (1-1) (Fri 04/26/2026) [9:30 CDT]

Bigger teams like Portland often give him trouble. Two of his worst games this season were against them. Their size with Clingan/Timelord is a lot to deal with for a guy who's 6'5, even if he plays bigger than that. He basically has to hit his open 3's this series to be effective.
That’s fair. I notice in Spursish media ppl going down the line calling out players who aren’t contributing enough in this series and virtually no one mentions Keldon. I was just wondering why Keldon gets a pass but I guess it’s because he’s undersized. Also bad timing to call him out as his 6MOY trophy seems to have uplifted the team.

I agree Keldon needs to play better. He's been underwhelming the first 2 games. He didn't get as many open looks in Game 2 due to not being able to play off of Wemby's gravity. Hopefully he steps up in Game 3 and proves he's worthy of 6MOY.

yup...and castle has turned into westbrick for us
Castle just needs to play smarter. Quit forcing so many bad, contested shots and hoping for a call. He's also being a fouled some and not getting calls, but it's the Playoffs, so zebras are going to swallow their whistles more often than not unless you're a star player. He hit a couple 3's last game which was encouraging. I do think Mitch should stagger he and Fox's minutes more though.

YES! The eggs are working, bring more eggs!

Man if Wemby does indeed end up playing tomorrow you can imagine he's gonna be pissed. His team just lost a very winable game without him in which he was forced out of because of a fluke play....

If he does play, I just want him to play more controlled...definitely don't need him heated and trying more risky stuff.

Whether he plays or not Friday, me thinks not, we need to go up there win this mot#%^&8ers!

The no playoffs experience gotta stop.Portland got none either.Castle, fox, gotta step up.Castle is turning into sochan
on offense and its killing us.Its 5 on 4 on offense.Dude gotta hit open shots.
Deep balls not falling yet, but Steph has scored 35 points on 33 shots and is grabbing boards like crazy. Its just 2 bad games from deep, maybe that continues, but he's still getting to the line and generating points. 2nd yr player, Scoots been red hot and Jrue is a dog. He'll adjust and the Spurs can beat this team without Vic.

Only wish our 3, 4, or 5th string Centers were capable of giving us 5-8 good minutes combined, Wright was very wrong to keep BB rostered. He should be on the staff right now, he'd still get paid, still chance at an ring, but our 15th man should be someone that looks like an NBA player if you squint, and BB is no longer that. Random tall G-league athlete would be far preferrable, maybe capable of giving a few energy minutes. Ugh

No.
If he had a concussion he would've been taken to hospital and surely out for a couple of weeks.
He just entered the concussion protocol, which is a standard procedure whenever a serious blow to the head happens.
Gotta push back on this. You don't need to go to the hospital if you have a concussion, and a concussion wouldn't necessarily mean you are out for a few weeks.

Only when a person displays "red flag" symptoms like vomiting, worsening headaches, passing out, etc. should a concussion require a visit to the hospital.

Whether or not Wemby was officially diagnosed with a concussion, I do not know (although I recall Mitch saying in the post game that Wemby had a concussion)... but even if he did, that wouldn't necessitate a hospital stay nor would i require him being out for a couple of weeks.

While there are varying grades of a concussion (you can have a mild concussion or a severe concussion) - one thing that you nailed that is very important, once he is cleared then he is cleared. There is no minutes restriction type stuff applicable to this kind of injury. He's either good to go or he's not. If he was out for 3 weeks with a concussion maybe he might return on minutes restriction for conditioning, but it wouldn't be because of the concussion.

Even if he is somehow cleared I doubt Spurs play him game 3. Concussion symptoms are very variable depending on the individual, the strength of the hit but also the where it happens. In Victor case it seems the more direct impact was on the chin first which is a good news if you don't break hit, better than a direct hit on the skull.. It is quite similar of a KO in boxing. Playing rugby I had some of those, before all the protocols existed you basically had to take a breather on the side of the filed to recover your legs and consciousness, after the doc asked you to count to 3 you were back at it. Some symptoms in my case could appear a couple of days after though. Situation is not great at 1-1 but it is not a game 7, even losing game 3 we would still have chances. If he is cleared it would mean there are no symptoms left but again some can appear later. In that context, I believe they sit him game 3 continue to monitor if no new symptom appears he will play game 4.

Are the Spurs part of the "clearing" him process? Because if they are and he's "cleared" then why wouldnt he play? If they're still worried then I'm sure they'll have a say in "clearing" him and he won't be available until after Game 3.

And as I already stated my unpopular opinion is.. Spurs win game 3 sans Victor in OT, Victor comes back game 4 and Spurs win easily playing him 20 mn then Spurs finishes at home and that's my story as Kerr would say.

I also think that it is likely that he misses game 3.

I said from the onset it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even travel with the team, so the fact he is doing so is a great sign in and of itself.

All it took was that sweet sweet brazil game thread and everything is falling into place
