Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 3: Blazers vs Spurs (1-1) (Fri 04/26/2026) [9:30 CDT]

Scoot was on a mission to redeem his pre-draft value. He's been overlooked and debunked since their draft, while Victor is getting all the accolades and media attention. Let's see if he can continue to focus and carry on. A supernova game sometimes results in a crash.

Hope it does. Fucking bust has done nothing apart from last night in his career

The @BatManu20 curse was going to rear it's ugly head at some point.
Just keep @Amuseddaysleeper at bay or Vic would have broken his jaw.
Curse..?? 12-5 record this season with no injuries my boy. Better peep the resume.

Fox and Castle backcourt has been rough so far. Short sample size ofc, but pretty telling tbh. Mitch might need to stagger their minutes more if this continues.

I think this is the key... after that initial 5 minute stint to start the game I'm hoping we see much more of a stagger with their minutes (or, Fox just becomes the clear #1 option)

All these awards just to lose to these bums in the first round would be tragic
Especially for Keldon who needs to prove his season wasn't just a "play hard","energy play" gimmick that gets typically exposed in the playoffs because everyone is playing with revved up engine and high physicality.

Champ needs to be guarding his ass. He cheated over big time to double team Deni, leaving Camara open by 10 feet for a critical trey.
When we still had the lead.
Stoopid shit like that is super low BB IQ strategy.
yea very critical play, that was huge

I would feel much better if Wemby travels with the team to Portland as Shams alludes. It means there is a chance he plays in Game 4. I think he got concussed but was not totally knocked out (similar to Kawhi incident vs OKC in March'17. He missed one game and was back 4 days later playing 39 minutes)

First post of the year. Was member of SpursTalk since 2005. Been focused on work deadlines and life, but didn't miss a game all year. Good to see lots of familiars and new faces here. Shoutout to @scott.

Last night was a kick in the nuts for sure, but this series is far from over. Fox and Barnes are the ones that are supposed to help the guys weather these next few games. If the coaches are flexible, I think we're gonna find that Harper and Bryant are gonna be more effective. I hope they get minutes when the game's on the line. We're gonna learn a lot about this squad in the next couple of weeks. Friday will be fun.

Time for the rest of this team to prove they’re not just Wemby merchants tbh. Thankfully it sounds like all of the news surrounding Wemby has been positive and I’m guessing he’ll be back game 4, but I’d really rather avoid going down 2-1 with a game 4 on the road.

I like the optimism, but wembys was way worse

Welcome, brotha. Glad you found us, we all float down here tbh.

Well when Pistons employed this in our 1st meeting KJ, Steph and CB ruffed them alot.

Problem is refs, who are allowing 1 side to be physical.

But I agree, we dont have a O philosophy. No one moves the ball to open receivers.
Yeah, we have a couple guys off the bench, one being a rookie, that can be physical. Starting 5, only Steph. I thought the Spurs actually looked scared at the end. Portlands just gonng beat the shit out of the Spurs. And yes, the refs are a problem. It's like they have money on the series, eh? Corrupt refs are, or have already, ruined the NBA.

And I agree, we don't have any offensive plan. Everyone just sits on the 3 point line waiting for the one guy with the ball to pass it to them. It's like, they've never even heard of back screens off the ball to get someone else open. smh.

Mitch needs an offensive coordinator. Do they even have that in Basketball?? :)
