Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 1: Spurs vs Blazers (0-0) (Sun 04/19/2026) [8:00 CDT]

Sometimes this team plays so stupid it makes me question the IQ of the coaching staff. You have a 7’4 guy on the floor and you don’t post him up at all against the midgets he’s playing and instead have him take fade away 20 footers. Genius coaching by Mitch

Wow that’s surprising, Jru shoved his arm into castle of course it was gonna get tangled up
I mean, Jrue cracked his knee. Of course they were going to get tangled up. It was a no-call, but they blew the whistle anyway.

Not playing great really in any phase except for Vic and they're up, so I'll take it.

The officiating wouldn't matter if we were more careful with the ball.

Also we're lucky Portland can't shoot 3s, the 3 point D continues to be a problem

The offense was pretty good. We got enough players playing well. But not enough rebounding and the officials kept Portland in the game straight up.

We’re letting them shoot 3s. Look at the difference in close outs on Sharpe and Deni vs the other guys.

Fun first half for sure, but blazers only down 10 despite shooting 25% from outside could be better. Should be an awesome second half.

Castle hooked the defender.
Yeah, I saw it, but the player put his arm on him. The first offense was the foul. The fact that Castle hooked him after the contact is irrelevant. If you think it's egregious, call him for a technical, but it's after the play. The play was the foul. It's dead ball after that.

It's equally as stupid as calling Victor for that foul after he made the block. The contact was after the play. It didn't matter. It never matters. Only to this crew does that shit matter. You're living in a completely different world right now from rational basketball rules.

Towards the end of the previous run Spurs fans were spoiled af and would not be this fired up in the first round so I’m glad that the hiatus has brought back the good atmosphere

Hey guys, I'm watching the feed that shows the NBA stadiums during commercial breaks with all the different cities. I know what all of them are, but one. One of them has an amusement park right next to it, and Grok is telling me that that's San Antonio, and I don't think that's right.
I think that’s Ball Arena (Nuggets) next to Elitch Garden and Water Park
