Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

Glad we didn’t trade for Garland. What a crazy trade day. Memphis is in rebuild mode officially, even though we knew they already were. Regardless, nothing really changes for the Spurs. They’re still in a great position and they still have to fight every game to maintain it.
Why would we trade for Garland? Do you mean previous years?

Min with Mcdaniels, Randle is scarier than Min with Giannis IMO. Plus Giannis will take a lot away from AE.

Just wish they could also take Divincenzo off Minnesota. Fuck that guy

I mean MIN looked pretty competitive with depth they always go for unwieldy top heavy additions like Gobert and blow up their flow depth and chemistry for weird matches

Magic will fire Mosley at end of season, but the reality is Banchero is just not that guy. Building around Franz Wagner is right the move. The sample size of Orlando looking much better with him as the lead guy.is simply too overwhelming the past two seasons . How is Banchero for Giannis not getting much traction?

Franz wagner is also not that guy. They’re stuck in mid-purgatory.

Honestly gut wrenching man, if that pick goes top 4 and the hawks make the play offs imma jump the roof
Meh. Historically championship level teams that pick in the top 5 end up with a player who completely bust because said championship team doesn't have enough minutes to go around for top 5 pick to play championship basketball.

OKC has SGA Chet and J Dub so any guard or forward they get at most is playing backup minutes their entire rookie contract, which is not what any top 5 player is going to want or any agent of any top 5 player is going to want.

Isn't Pablo on a poison pill contract or something like that? I think its one of those "It'd have to happen this summer kind of things'

Nah Franz is awesome, he's just an elite role-malleable 2nd/3rd option that's getting miscast as a 1st/2nd option. We were talking about miscast dudes like Derrick White or Aaron Gordon that suddenly looked awesome in a new environment, Franz is literally that guy. They're all well rounded guys who don't need the ball and can affect the game in a ton of ways. Put Franz next to a legitimate 1A initiator like Ant or Luka and that teams' championship equity is going to skyrocket. If the Warriors had drafted him over Kuminga they'd still be in good shape even after the Wiseman debacle. He's having a down year but over the last 3 seasons Franz is +9/100 playing without Paolo while Paolo without Franz is -4/100.

If Presti is the same opinion, he can just flip the top4 pick for A LOT of future assets. We really want the Clippers to be good right now.

After all a disgruntled Harden wouldn't have helped the Clippers either. Let's just hope, Kawhi keeps them in PO contention.

If the Clips don't trade Zubac and Garland stays healthy, they should remain a play-in team at least even if Nephew decides to quit again.

Well we apparently agree, by not that guy, I mean not the #1 option on a champion team.

I still don't see what kinds of assets the Wolves have for making a Giannis trade happen. They can offer a bunch of their own FRP (out of 2026, 2028, 2029, 2030), but if they get Giannis, those picks probably won't be worth much for the next couple of years. And if they have to gut their roster by including too many players out of the likes of, say, McDaniels, Reid, Randle, Gobert, they will have Giannis and Ant - and not much else. And none of those players would be appealing to a rebuilding Bucks franchise, either.
Maybe there might be a three teamer with the Wolves generating some good draft assets via trading away McDaniels (seems the most likely candidate for this) and then rerouting said assets to the Bucks? I don't know, stills sound rather unlikely to me.

Also, Boston continues making good moves on the margins. Vucevic isn't great, but at least he gives them another option in their thin big men rotation. And this deal was really smart from a financial/cap management perspective:
"By making this deal, the Celtics not only save nearly $21 million in the luxury tax but they also get all the way under the first apron. As Marks explains, that means Boston is no longer subject to limitations on taxpaying teams signing high-salaried players who are bought out of their contracts after the deadline."

Sochan with an ominous social media post w song lyrics about things being better off with him gone. Shades of DJM eyeballs emoji?

do the Spurs want Giannis go West? but if they don't care, they might be a well suited 3rd team in a trade that sends Giannis to Minny. assuming McDaniels is a target for the Spurs (no doubt he should be). what are they willing to trow in for McDaniels? 26 Atlanta Swap, 27 Atlanta, 26 Jazz SRP?

trade is:
Wolves get: Giannis and Sochan
Bucks get: Reid, Barnes, Dillingham, Olynyk, Bryant and 5 FRP plus some SRP
Spurs get: McDaniels, Di Vincenzo, Thananis

Bucks will have to waive some players, but the trade works under the rules.
