Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

Dumars is a dumbass. It should be us who owns their pick this year tbh. We were one pick away... smh.

I wonder who those teams would be. Lakers seem to be one of them.

If teams wait until the offseason, do they have access to more future draft picks like a year further down the line than if they would do a trade now?

I'm not sure being over the second apron as a second round exit team was a good direction.
Garland had to go, him and Mitchell couldn't play together in the playoffs. Too bad for them Harden isn't the solution.
Allen is also a "the lights were too bright" kind of guy.

Good direction is a sense they were playing great ball, had some great assets and young talented players. I agree about garland and mitchell but as you said Harden was not the solution and Lebron doing his retirement tour there would end with what they were doing

The first deal they gave him was fine. The more recent extension was absurd lol
Yeah, it was completely unnecessary. Why extend him so early?

While we're on the Raptors: What on earth would they want with Sabonis? Seems like a terrible fit for them, at least in my opinion.

i dont hate it for them. Barnes and CMB are a great defensive duo at the forward spot who can theoretically cover Sabonis' shortcomings, while they all stand to benefit from his playmaking

bulls trying to tank or wat...trading there legit center
Moneyball? Corning the market on 6'3" SG only expiring contracts? White, Donsunmu, Simons, Ivy + Tre, Giddy, Okoro. There's talent there, everyone but Simons is on a pretty good deal, but kinda too late to tank, already got 24 wins and there's the bottom 6 will struggle to get to 30 wins, even full on tank from here Chi probably struggles to get below 10 with stiff competition from Griz, Mil, Dal, maybe LAC and ATL.
Not sure what their setting up, but they aren't done, lots of pieces that can help on the court and with the cap. If we didn't have a glut of guards I'd be all over Donsunmu and a discounted Ivy.

I still don't see what kinds of assets the Wolves have for making a Giannis trade happen. They can offer a bunch of their own FRP (out of 2026, 2028, 2029, 2030), but if they get Giannis, those picks probably won't be worth much for the next couple of years. And if they have to gut their roster by including too many players out of the likes of, say, McDaniels, Reid, Randle, Gobert, they will have Giannis and Ant - and not much else. And none of those players would be appealing to a rebuilding Bucks franchise, either.
Maybe there might be a three teamer with the Wolves generating some good draft assets via trading away McDaniels (seems the most likely candidate for this) and then rerouting said assets to the Bucks? I don't know, stills sound rather unlikely to me.
Yeah, think McDaniels has to go as he's the most valuable with his age/contract.
Gobert's only got 2yrs/$75mil left, Randle's 2yrs/$69 left and just turned 31, Reid's owed about 4yrs/$110 and is 26.5.
I think two have to go for salary and asset reasons. Really not sure who Giannis would actually fit best with (assuming McD has to be involved as their best asset).

Tbh Sochan is taking this with a class act. He’s always been a good soldier, changing his FT style, playing PG, C, losing minutes to a rookie CB amidst trade rumors, and without a single complaint and still seems being one of the guys…. I wish Sochan finds his place in the NBA, and play his Swiss Army style defensive potential
Yeah, I think he respects the team aspect of it and doesn't wanna be a drag on his boys.
Just wish he'd grow up/act like a professional in some other areas. Quit the stupid hair schtick ,the on-court clown behavior, the temu Rodman shit. I guarantee many teams/coaches look at that stuff and say hard no. Dude's in his 4th season and has yet to show he understands what it means to act like a pro in those aspects. Stars can be clowns, marginal NBA players can't. Hope he changes/grows up, cuz I still think there's a decent chance at a solid NBA role player (for another team).

They got 3x times more for AD than for Luca, because he can be shot down for season to help with the tank job

That #30 FRP is worse than #30-35 picks because of salaries.

Wizards could be interesting next season in those 20 games Trae and AD play together.
A shittier lob city with Trae/Sarr/AD.

interesting to see tanking teams make big aquisitons at the deadline. Have never seen this before.

I actually really like this for the Wizards.
They'll get another top pick and all their young players will have Trae/AD to play with and then when it's time for extensions, they'll just dump the veterans.

Jazz was understandable since they don't own their '27 FRP, I guess Wizards doing it means that next year's draft is that bad.

Wash paid close to nothing for AD and Trae, still can tank for top 3 2026 and have Sarr. Not too shaby
