Mitch "Silky" Johnson

I liked Carter Bryant getting some non-garbage time mins in the 1st half as well, shows a willingness to get creative.

My only gripe was that Steph and Wemby could have been staggered more tonight but that's probably just a product of him sticking to the planned rotations early in the year.

I was worried about hiring him... and time will tell, but I was pleasantly surprised with him. He seemed more quiet and laid back last season. The clip of the team locked-in as he was talking during a TO was good to see.
 
I've been a supporter of this dude since before it became fashionable.

I've already posted a few times saying that I expect him to be in the running for COY.

Man, Pop really has been as terrible as people have been saying. That was some competent shit from Mitch.

Although we have not gotten an update on how each guy did at yoga this morning so we shouldn’t be so quick to praise him.
 
Not at practice. But gotta make these guys shoot threes and fts. Especially Harper and Castle. Our two ball dominant guards can’t be 5-12 from line. Pathetic. Threes they didn’t take many but decent clip so far. 2/5. For these two.

That and it's obvious the spurs promised CP3 a starting spot and X amount of minutes a night and Mitch was beholden to that.

I don't want to denigrate the old man to much so I will just leave it at Mitch is coaching like it's his actual job and he wants to be successful at it which is something we haven't had here in a LONG time.

I think Mitch is actually going to be a good coach who is an asset to this team who can give us an actual coaching advantage going forward.

There’s no reason to be worried about ft’s. Harper and castle will wind up between 70 and 85% and it’s not really a matter of will or effort. They’ll just end up hitting at that rate.

That's when I understood his speech was as much if not more directed to the observers than his players, whom most had probably never heard that word before lmao

I like what I saw yesterday in terms of coaching but one game is definitely not enough for me to be confident in his inexperienced coaching.

Damn, Chauncey Billups sounds like an evil hombre. Taking mafia money to con civilians into entering corrupt poker games? That's some Goodfellas shit.

Saw in an article in 2023 Rozier made a deal with a friend to fake an injury in the first quarter of a game. The friend sold that info to 2 big time gamblers for $200,000. I'm assuming Rozier got a sizable cut of that.

Sports leagues getting greedy and getting in bed with gambling will only lead to this type of stuff. The Rozier stuff at least, not necessarily the Billups and Bonnano crime family fraud spree.
