Player BREAKING: Wemby Expected to Miss Multiple Weeks with Left Calf Strain; **UPDATE** Wemby Expected to Return Tomorrow for NBA Cup Semifinals vs. OKC

Then i reposted in post#72
I misread Heyheymymy's post. I thought he was saying there was another play after where he tried something. I just reread it in his post, and yes, I remember now that he crouched down behind him after the leg sweep motion.

Utterly disgusting

Fuck steve kerr i am sure this is no accident

Holee fuck, did the nba review this shit? Why the fuck is podz sweeping his leg under wemby? Dirty motherfuckin warriors…this is why i hate steve kerr- he knows his players do this kind of dirty shit…
I don’t get why no one just takes down this fake tough guy and chokes him out. Drop some elbows on his head and take the suspension. You’d think with all these Spurs taking MMA and boxing classes, they’d step in when they see the franchise PLAYER getting set up like that. Honestly, even take out that thin-lipped Kerr—some assistant coach should just deal with that dweeb.

It's good to hear from people that have had calf injuries. It shows they're not a joke. How long did it take for it to come good? I guess the ones I had must have been really mild then as I was still able to play basketball with them. I do remember walking around/limping a tiny bit when at work/doing day to day stuff, but usually it wasn't too bad when warmed up.

I didn’t have a medical team and twice wembys age. Couldn’t even jog a mile for 4-6 weeks.

Like I said in another thread the Spurs were blessed with Duncan in the sense that during his first 6 years he only missed 9 games. He was super durable. To no fault of his own I don't think Victor's body is ever going to be durable enough where he can play close to 82 games. On a sidenote this is why the Spurs paid a lot of money for a guy like Fox so he can carry the team while Victor gets these type of injuries.
Did you see the Dirty F play that that ZIPPO looking Fudge twick from The Warriors pulled on Wimby? What are you talking about, durable. Its a DIRTY dam play that caused the injury.

Regardless of age or access to medical team that Vic has, it sounds like you had a bad one. Comparing to you, I probably never had anything other than minor strains from the sounds of it.

Has video of the play in question been posted? Help a brother out and tell me what post.

Yeah, looks like in this instance it's from a dirty play. Not just an injury that happened out of nowhere.

Even the DVT, one of the Grizzles players (can't remember who GG Jackson maybe?) fell on Vic's shoulder/upper back area a few games or so before, so I still wonder if if was from that. I sort of hope it was from that player falling on his, because then if he had the corrective surgery, I'm hoping he's 100% OK going forward with that.

Is there any video of that? I'm really starting to think Steve Kerr is telling his guys to do this shit.
Yes, one page back in this thread is some good footage posted to review but it looks very deliberate.

Really a sign of the times. I guarantee in the 2000s & prior he would have missed 0 games for this. He looked fine on the sidelines last game.

And I hate that people will use this to say he's injury prone when it's literally nothing.

I could've described it better. Yes, all the same play. Leg sweep then crouch.

Once I reread it, I understood what you meant. I just read it too quickly and thought you meant on another play after that one, not during the same play. Probably cause it's the Warriors, it got me fired up and I jumped to the conclusion they did it on another separate play.

i think that argument can be made to a degree in basketball but we are still seeing way more nagging soft tissue injuries keeping players out in the NFL at the same time, as both leagues have traded toward scaling down practice and offseason conditioning
Except wasn't it cited as an underlying issue for the 49er's serious rash of injuries over the last few years: that Mike Shananhan's practices are often the longest and most physically demanding in the NFL.

This is really bad and will have a big effect on our playoff possibilities or seating.

I watched the whole entire game. I can recall a play where both him and Podz got tangled but don't remember it fully. Please post the clip and then I will comment on it.

Good backup bigs were a concern going into the draft and there were ones there that maybe could have been had (Kalkbrenner being one of them that I really would have liked if Raynaud didn't want to be away from Stanford), yet for whatever reason, they passed on it. Seems to me, they're a bit clueless on what the team needs with all the guards they got. Not sure what they're trying to do with all the PGs, SGs/pseudo small forwards they're trying to play at SF.
Not to mention we passed on Edey when we traded the 8th pick, he'd be a decent backup big. Edey was then drafted 9th. Not saying he's the answer but he's massive and half alright. A guy with that height and weight probably won't have the healthiest career either though. We'll see him in action next game

Wemby gonna be the perennial GOAT of "he would've won DPOY if he was eligible".
This is sad news :st-depressed: Hopefully he's back for Xmas OKC double header but we'll see.

Luke Kornet about to earn that contract.
Fox too

This really sucks but it is the right move.. You don't fuck with calf injuries nowadays; the calf-to-achilles rupture connection has taken down too many star players recently for teams to ignore the devastating implication of treating the issue lightly. I would rather go 0-12 in next few weeks than see that horrific sight with Wemby.

Also Mitch Johnson playing him 15 consecutive minutes vs Warriors was extremely reckless choice.

Fuckin Podz the dirty piece of shit. I didn’t see that until now.

Knowing how vile and dirty Draymond and Steve Kerr are I wouldn’t put it past them cheapshotting Victor to get the Spurs down the standings and out of the top 6.

I also have no doubt they ordered the Zaza hit on Kawhi in 2017.
