Player BREAKING: Wemby Expected to Miss Multiple Weeks with Left Calf Strain; **UPDATE** Wemby Expected to Return Tomorrow for NBA Cup Semifinals vs. OKC

Some positive news. Seems Wemby’s strain isn’t as severe as Harper’s.
I never thought it was. I understand 100% sitting him out because the risk is too high (not worth taking the chance), but as I said previously, Dylan's looked bad (he had to go off the court straight away - I was real worried about it being worse when it happened), and Victor's, I don't think anyone even noticed it during the game? Did any of you guys notice it during the game? Then the video we've seen of it likely have been from Podziemski hitting his leg (with that very questionable play of his), I feel much, much better about it.

Yeah, but we’re not a poverty franchise with an idiot at helm. I was reminded that Nico was the one that lost out on Steph signing at Nike. Blew the whole presentation and called him Seth. lol. Anyone that hires him for anything other than janitorial work is oncrack
Didn't he pronounce his first name wrong? Called him "Stephon" instead of "Stephen" or something? I thought it was something like that. Then he recycled old slides they had for KD's presentation. Nico's a clown. How did Kobe roll with him? Wasn't he Kobe's guy? Maybe he got some attitude from Kobe on looking down on all other players.

We live and learn.Shouldnt probaby be playing over 30 mins a game.Should also invest in another young big from now on.
Stop wasting two way contracts on guys like harrison ingram and minix riley. We can do much better then that shit.
33-34 minutes a game is probably about right for Victor. Playing him 38 one game against GSW is ok. Now playing him 38mpg all season would be just asking for injuries.

What’s worse? Every usual suspect from the Cliff Diving Message Board Veterans’ Club is leaping in to declare, “Wemby’s injury-prone, just like so-and-so, we can’t build around him.” Terrible take. Terrible troll attempt. If that’s the excuse you’re selling yourselves, Cliff Jumpers, it’s flimsier than a pool noodle at high tide. This is the kind of play the NFL literally outlawed because it racked up injuries faster than a buffet racks up empty plates.
I would say your projecting your own insecurities here. I'm not trying to troll with my take that he's injury prone. I actually hope that I'm wrong about Victor being injury prone.

That play by Podz I would say wasn't even necessarily dirty and I say this as someone who hates the Warriors with a passion and was the first to call out Zaza for doing his bush league tactics on ST when it happened. Podz on that play struck me as being clumsy and invertedly did what he did after a failed strip of the ball attempt of Victor caused him to lose his balance. It sucks that Victor ended up tripping because of it but if this is the sole reason why Victor got hurt then it shows again he's injury prone. Plenty of NBA players trip all the time so that means if one trip can take him out that he's always going to be at risk of getting hurt from simple falls.

Podz slipping and falling my ass. Dirty shit.
Also in addition to Donkeys leg kick (see above very start of video, you'll need to freeze at the start) watch Donkey additionally give Victor a shove right as Pods is doing his leg take out.

Kerr, and Warriors are subhuman shit. I respect ZERO of anything they have done.

yeah but gotta play that french vanilla combo, for some reason

This is straight out of the Cobra Kai academy playbook—Karate Kid’s John Kreese barking “Sweep the leg!”—delivered by thin-lipped Steve Kerr himself. And no, we’re not talking about a clumsy trip or an innocent tumble. This reeks of troll-level mischief, because otherwise… well, with all due respect, one might start questioning sanity, sincerity, and the ol’ IQ score.

Giannis is going to be out a while too.

if wemby doesn't win it this year either, the qualifier is getting removed next year tbh

I'm reading a lot of concerns about Victor's health, it is obviously a topic due to his size and history of injuries of some other "giants".

In that regard, I think his first year and half of his second year must be somehow reassuring tbh...

Prior entering in the NBA and the blood clot issue, his most severe injury was a fibula stress fracture when he was 16 y/o. At 17 y/o he had a fractured finger, a bone contusion on his right shoulder and a psoas injury.

Now in his NBA rookie year he missed 11 games (right hip tightness then he missed a couple of games here and there due to ankle). In his second year he played 45 out of 52 before the clot story, here again more Spurs precaution (bruised right knee and sore lower back).

Looking at it his first year and half in the NBA is quite reassuring compared to his 16 and 17 y/o. Besides remembering in particular his first years, everybody has been impressed by how he handled some ugly rolling ankles.

This calf strain obviously sucks but let's keep calm there is no indication that our Victor is a giant made of glass. The clot issue is a freak stuff tbh and I don't imagine that coming back to be an issue.

At Bovada it's Holmgren +130, Wemby +400, Mobley +450, Amen +800. Wemby is +10000 on MVP.
Thanks amigo.

If Wemby gets down to +800 or so, I think that's a buy...

...but I also suck at Sports betting in general, be warned.

Still kicking myself... had $100 queued up in the machine around this time last year for Castle ROTY at +1800 but chickened out at the last minute.

Could do like me and put down $500 thinking the Spurs would surely win Game 5 over the Lakers in 04. And as I'm watching the game I'm like shit well not covering the spread but Tim just hit the most iconic shot in franchise history to win the game so I'm good...

I’m gonna beat this to death but I don’t feel this is fully indicative of actual player injuries.

This seems way more about overly cautious teams holding players back.

Right or wrong it seems this is the way things are going to be.

Maybe it’s coddling players but more so about protecting their long term investments.

This looks very precautionary. Wemby likely wasn't pleased with being sat down like this.. Time to step up for a bit in his absence.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he returns right after the 2 weeks is done.

there's no such thing as a precautionary absence, when it comes to strains. Don't kid yourself, he'll come back for the second wizard game

If this leads to the league looking more seriously into the possibility of reducing the amount of RS games, at least something good might come out of all those injuries ...
