What's the conversation? Give Jalen a max contract because his stats are better than Paolo's? Do it Atlanta! And give him a no show Aspiration type deal while you're at it.
Jalen Johnson is in year 1 of a 5 year deal paying him 30mil per year

meanwhile Paolo just signed a 5 year extension that will pay him between 40-55mil per year (will go up further if he cracks an all-nba team this year)

Oh I'm aware. Just being playfully facetious about the "it's time to have a conversation" comment on the tweet (I will always use "tweet" BTW).

That Pels roster barely has any talent. Feels like they're in a semi-rebuild and need to move Zion but then traded away their pick this year. So weird.

And yet, posters here constantly want guys from that roster…

Yeah, the lack of impact on winning from players of interest like Herb/Murphy has me spooked. The coach has changed five games ago and still no reaction or bounce. Really? There is no way that team should be as bad as they are right now.. And the dumbfucks bailed out Atlanta two consecutive seasons..

Herb's contract situation isn't great, tbh.
He's one of the better defenders in the league, but 10ppg with "just" 36% from 3pt on fairly low volume isn't enough.
He also averages less than 4 rebounds in 30mpg and offers no playmaking value.

$14 and $15M he's on this and the next season are good value, but then his $21/22.5/24M extension kicks in and that's a bit too much, imo.

For comparison Jaden McDaniels is on $24M, has more size and is clearly a better player on offense, imo.

Trash ass pelicans
Peli(shit)cans. Giving Atlanta a lottery pick. Hate even seeing the scores of games wanting them to win so they don't potentially give the Hawks a top 4 pick. How I wish the Spurs finished one spot ahead and got the offer instead. Regardless, they shouldn't have given that picks to the Hawks, Spurs or anyone.

We actually finished #8, comfortably ahead of them. That pick jumped to #2 and became Harper. The pick that ATL traded to NO during the draft was a Sacto FRP acquired from the original Kevin Huerter to Sacto trade. Sacto and ATL both finished with 40-42 records, so the order was decided by a coin flip. If ATL had lost just ONE of those four fucking early season games against Boston or Cleveland, our ATL pick would have slid ahead of ATL’s Sacto pick, and NO would have called us.

This is the bit I was referring to. I didn't know all the details. I just remember someone mentioning a coin flip, but wasn't sure who of the details. Thanks for clarifying. I liked the Spurs pick of Carter Bryant, but if it was my choice, I would have much rather that NO call the Spurs and offer them that draft pick. Stinks that Atlanta got it.

Queen could be a good player, though. The last game against the Spurs, I was thinking he looks pretty good out there (a lot better than even the first game against the Spurs), and then funnily enough (you probably remember if you watched the Spurs commentary), Sean Elliot said during the broadcast that Tim texted him and told him something similar - he likes that Queen kids game. Last time I heard Tim give a big man praise was for Jokic just after TD retired (don't know if Tim has commented on Victor?). I wouldn't have picked Queen personally, but there was a Spurs fan or two on ST that really liked his game. They really should have tried to trade Zion for a potential lottery pick when he had value (Or do you think no team would have offered one? Was his value tanked from his weight issues?).

The weight led to the injuries, and that tanked his value. He’s amazing when he plays, but I believe that is less than half the schefuled pelicans games. I also think that may be the reason they can’t quit him.

If that happened people here will be complaining about how great queen is and they don’t care about getting dybansta, Peterson or anyone else for that matter.

Gotta love this place.

Wiz 100
Hawks 72

4 min left in 3rd. Wiz cannot screw this up can they?

if the pelicans were 3-15 i dont think anybody here, on the site (or successor site) where we have basically lived the last few years with Tankathon as our home page, would be complaining about Queen being good

also, i liked queen, just didnt love his fit here. i had the wizards taking him #5

I had him #16 on my board

Still think the Pelicans will win enough games to finish outside the bottom 5.They have zero incentives not to (they really shouldn't have been this bad). And i fully expect Jazz, Hornets and Kings to go into tank overdrive after trade deadline (Pacers, Nets, Wizards are locked in bottom 3)..So Hawks are going to hope for pingpong balls luck going their way (similar to us with Harper) to get a blue chip guy--even then it won't change much from our perspective regarding their '27 pick

he was polarizing for sure. i know dejounte really wanted him on the spurs. i didnt think the fit was there with him being as ball dominant as he is. but i thought the wizards desperately needed an offensive engine/hub and he made a lot of sense there

Alex Sarr has quietly had a very good soph campaign so far. Averaging 18 points, 8.5 boards, with 3.5 assist and 2 blocks per game. FG% up from sub 40 to around 50% too. Shooting the 3 at 35%.

Much better prospect than Risacher. He should and would have gone number 1 if he didn’t tell the Hawks not to draft him.

Atlanta is fake. They’ll either flame out in the play in, or not make it that far.
