Wow, crazy early game, good shit!

Just tuned into a 15pt lead from Mwke. I'll drop the stream if the Hawks even up :st-lol:

Bucks out to a 15 point lead. Exactly the performance we need to see.

We really need MIL FO to leave this game believing they should buy and keep pushing.

Portis jawing at his own bench after hitting a corner 3 then his man handily beat him down the floor in transition, only to flub the wide open layup. No wonder these teams are on the verge of play-in territory.

Would be even better if the Hawks spiral down enough that they panic and send the Spurs significant assets to get their 2026 swap back.

As a thought experiment... let's say the Hawks wanted their 2026 Swap back, but only were willing to send us future picks for it? What would you be willing to accept?

For example, would you give them back their '26 swap in exchange for the 29 and 31 unprotected? (I don't know if they can even trade these, this is just an example)

If that involves getting two net firsts (the Spurs only undo the 2026 swap) I would do that in a heartbeat. The 2026 swap is worth a lot more to the Hawks if they can properly tank than to the Spurs if the Hawks keep trying to win.

If the Hawks don't pull the plug they should still be able to get to the #11-12 draft slot as other teams start tanking in earnest. Thats about a 7% chance for a top 4 pick, not bad but I would take the two birds in the hand.

If the Spurs have to give up their own 2026 pick in the deal I would be less inclined. The Spurs need to keep the pipeline of young talent on cost controlled contracts flowing, and late firsts are perfect for that.

I would consider an offer, myself. I don't think the Spurs really need a mid-lottery or late lottery pick this year. I mean, it would be nice, but it wouldn't really fill our needs as a near-contending team. We'd be looking at another raw player when Harper is still developing. Harper has limited duties and tons of room to grow. Bryant is super raw already. I'm also not really in love with the players available in the 8-14 range or so. They're not what we need and aren't really exciting me that much right now.

On the other hand, with the Pelicans pick, Atlanta should be starting trending upward and any future picks won't be that sweet.

would be a disaster for bucks if they some how lose this.
I think it's gonna happen, and if it does... "Will Giannis Get Traded" bets on those degenerate websites are going to see a healthy spike

CJ out here trying to blow the game for ATL again. Doing gods work

I can’t see them maintaining their position. Their schedule is a bitch, and the first team below them that has a reason to tank is Dallas at #8. It would be really easy for them to finish at #9. The three teams currently below them all have fewer or equal losses, and if Milwaukee holds on, they will have fewer losses, too.

And of course CJ responds by hitting a tough baseline jumper and a 3 to cut the lead to 4.

Really would have preferred a demoralizing Bucks blowout here... a close loss might keep ATL in the hunt as much as a win.

1 point game... Giannis about to be a Miami Heat

You can draft the most ready player in the draft and they still won’t start for this team. They’d have to blow everyone away in practice, and I don’t see any rook doing that. Veteran experience will take priority as Fox or Caste did over Harper this year. Whoever is drafted will start from the bench and work their way up to earn that starting spot over Barnes. They’d also have to be a shooter to get that spot, since we also have evidence that Mitch prefers shooting over anything else (Barnes over Sochan and everyone else).
where did I ever say starter? I said rotation which obviously includes the bench. Although outplaying Barnes is not that tall of a task.

Watching this gave me PTSD flashbacks to our tanking seasons.
Terrible basketball.
