massive kudos to the refs for not calling that absolute bullshit foul baiting by Trae young on that last shot. That guy is fucking shameless.

Hawks too good to drop out of the play-in, probably too bad to get any higher than 7th (hopefully). Realistically, it's going to come down to the 8-9 play-in game again against Sixers/Cavs. Hopefully cavs stop imploding because I think the Hawks have a pick swap with them too so they could in theory get 2 lottery picks this draft.

I'm starting to hope Hawks don't lose much and stay mediocre so they don't panic and do a Giannis or AD trade. they have a brutal schedule in next 5 weeks (see few posts above). The bottom of East & West are too bad for that pick to be anything better than a (11-14) range pick

Even though Antetokounmpo is MVP caliber and Davis is All-NBA (or maybe All-Star now, though the sample size is too small to say definitively), they should probably prioritize the latter.

He won't cost nearly as much, is a lesser ego and would fill more of a positional need to end up in the same place of a puncher's chance of a deep playoff run, but no chance at a championship.

Seen a bunch of Hawks fans calling for Snyder's head saying he failed to establish an identity for the team. I still think he's good coach, but i would admit he's lost his fast ball a bit in Atlanta compared to the job he's done in Utah in a much tougher conference.

I don‘t understand why the Hawks defense is that bad. Daniels, Johnson, NAW and Okongwu are all good defenders. I hope they don‘t fire Snyder, he‘s clearly lost on that end.

Johnson has been a complete ass defender for them. Okongwu is a decent 4 defensively but he’s too small to be a 5 and they don’t have KP or the corpse of capela anymore

He did nothing but hit open 3pt shots and had a couple of cuts.
25 points is nice, but it's a 300 point game and he had 3 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Fair. But for comparison, he's averaging more PPG, RBG, and more BPG on better efficiency in year 2 than Vassell did in his 2nd season. Not saying he's going to special, but he's definitely trending in the right direction tbh.

Without Snyder this team doesn't make the play-in.

Nah Jalen Johnson has the best defensive rating on the entire roster. Okongwu is undersized, but mobile and it‘s not like their perimeter defense was good in this game. Daniels was in the DPOY race last year. That‘s on the coaching staff more than anything. They clearly have the personell to be much better.

I'm not sure he's hit his second year leap yet.

P/R/A are virtually identical to his rookie year on a per 100 possessions basis. 2 pt% up, 3 pt% down, taking fewer 3s. Turnovers up, fouls up, catch all impact metrics identical. Not saying he's not going to be good or bad, and admittedly I don't really watch bulls games, but I think this year he's just getting more minutes.

Even tho that wasn’t a foul on the last play, how embarrassing was the defense by Giddey, you are 6’8 defending a 6 foot guy with a second left on the clock, surely you can stay a foot or two off him and contest the shot instead of running into his space with your hands by your side risking a dumb call by the refs.

Sometimes it amazes me how NBA players can lack such basic fundamentals, bit like Sochan shooting a jump shot that doesn’t look like it’s his first time ever touching a basketball.

Honestly if they want to give up even fewer assets even a guy like Gafford instead of AD might be good for them

Yup... their D isn't going to translate until they can put up more resistance at the rim.

With Lively's lack of durability through three seasons culminating in his being out for the season and Davis likely traded by the off season at the latest, Gafford is probably entrenched unless someone overpays.

Davis also moves the meter more ceiling wise.

The issue is that these teams are horrible, but that's still enough to make the play-in in the East.
Ya honestly when it comes to pick watching I find myself more interested in how NOP and LAC are doing these days lol pick will end up mid first round for us, esp as the season goes on and teams with their own picks truly start the tank fest

Well if you want to know about the Clippers, Zubac is out for 3 weeks

I agree, it is a bit of a mistery. I went back to see the 4th and I don't see anything egregious, the only thing that sticks out is the overhelping on rebounds resulting in players being out of position.

next game in Chicago with a chance for the Hawks to have more losses than the Bulls before going into a brutal schedule, now if any team behind them could win

How many years of these two teams vying for the 9th seed? Seems like a decade.

Go Bulls!
