SPURS WINNING IT ALL BABY WHOOHOO!!!

Im optimistic, those teams are not ready for what Wemby its gonna do to them :alien:

As much as I hate to say it, losing to the G League Nugs yesterday prob cut out our playoff experience this year by at least a full round. I honestly would've given us a likely WCF appearance and a real shot at the finals if we had won and the Thunder knocked out the Nuggets, but as it stands, it's hard to bet for the Spurs against Joker and the crew. Would love to be wrong, but that's the guess.

Still super excited to watch and stoked we're back in the mix :st-flag:

Yeah, this is pretty much it. Still stoked to see them in meaningful games for the first time in a while. But there's no spinning the fact that how they lost yesterday dipped their ring chances by a considerable amount. Oh well, it's a young team that will learn from it tbh.

The loss is not relevant to me, tbh… Harper’s injury, however….
This.

Honestly, I'd rather see Denver and Minnesota slug it out for 6 or 7 games before facing the Spurs, than see the Wolves crush LA in four games and then have all their momentum going in a series against us.

The injury to Harper is what sucks.

So if I'm understanding some folks in here, our 4 wins in 5 games against the Thunder aren't indicative of our chances against OKC because those were merely regular season wins, but Denver beating us (only once at full strength, in overtime, in their gym) says they're so much better than the Spurs?

I like the doomsday fans.

That said, a second round exit to the Nuggets wouldn't be shocking considering what the Joker is capable of, and the fact that they have the playoff experience. But those regular season games haven't swayed me to think any more or less about our chances against them.

I knew last night would bring out the panic mode.. Man it exploded.. I am over it.. Lets focus on Suns or Blazers and kick their ass..

Exactly. Didn't Vic only play in one of the Denver games? Last night sucked and I take it as one of those games were you just played down to the competition. Maybe they thought they had it in the bag and just came out lackadaisical. It is what it is but it doesn't rattle my confidence in the team making a deep playoff push. If you can't beat the best teams on the way to the title then you're not a championship team. Like AC/DC said, "it's a long way to the top if you want to ROCK AND ROLL".

Is potentially playing Denver after what's likely a tough series with Minnesota really that much worse than playing Minnesota after sweeping the Lakers would've been?

I really don't understand this line of thinking. For one, I literally posted the time series of the betting odds. If there was a big change due to the game or finding out something we didn't know yesterday, they would have moved. They did not. I'm not saying that this means the Spurs aren't inexperienced or that their inexperience doesn't matter, to be clear. What I'm saying is that this inexperience was ALWAYS going to be the case and a win or a loss in a final game of the regular season when teams had very little to play for doesn't meaningful change that either way. Even if we had won yesterday, we were still going to have that inexperience to deal with and if anything the loss serves as a good reminder that they need to remain locked in. They seem to be frustrated with the lack of experience chatter but yesterday is a really good reminder why that chatter is a thing.

Except they didn't from their last two chokes against the same Denver team. In fact they are doubling down on corny bullshit (headbands and catering to Barnes old ass PPG) thinking they got this in the bag :st-lol:.

Hopefully, I’m wrong. But I think the spurs lose in the second round to the Nuggets. The lack of size and (what feels like) poor three point shooting defense is going to hurt. And crunch time is where we are going to see the spurs exposed the most.

But maybe Wemby will be able to level up again and carry this team to the finals.

At the beginning of the year I said that I expected the Spurs to be a top 3 seed in the west if everyone stayed healthy. They are performing even better than I expected. I will be going into every single round expecting a win.

a scary 1st round series followed by a loss to the nuggets in a hotly contested playoff series. i will add that i wouldn't sleep on the wolves. and they wouldn't be that much better a 2nd round opponent. they also took the season series from the Spurs and almost completed a sweep.

From poll results, it hurts see the majority of us have kinda made peace with the inevitability of Denver "daddy-ing" us in the second round. I hope Wemby prove us wrong because i think only his will to win and strive to greatness can break the equation.

I'll go with a loss to OKC in the WCF. I think both the WCSF and WCF will be 6-7 game slugfests, and it will be big for this group to get some extended postseason experience this year.

Jokic can outplay and outsmart wemby in 7 game series

I trust Wemby, Stephon, and Harper tbh. It's the "others" that I don't trust.

Need to take care of business and play to expectations in round 1.. With a hard road ahead no excuses in this opening round..
